Below is a unique and innovative educational baby toy available in the market today. I selected it for its benefits, originality and value. The price of this toy could be considered an "investment" since the item can be used for years.
My Pal Violet and My Pal Scout
In the category of high tech educational baby toys, these doggie stuffed toys that are more than just for hugs. My Pal Violet is purple colored and for girls while My Pal Scout is the green dog ideal for boys. My Pal is an interactive stuffed toy that talks, says the baby's name, plays music, and teaches words. These are all programmed into the toy's computer chip. What's more exciting is that you can hook it up to your computer to download your baby's name and songs you like for a maximum of 10 minutes.
Your baby can interact with My Pal by pressing any of its four paws. My Pal can teach numbers, animal sounds, feelings and can even play classic lullabies. The Leap Frog website for My Pal gets updated and you can change the programmed songs, even download Christmas songs, so it's not boring and bothersome unlike other baby toys that play limited tunes. With a blinking collar, a cute voice, a cuddly feel and a personalized program, it's a sure favorite. It operates on 3 AA batteries with accessories included to get you hooked up right away.
Two Important Things Parents Should Know Before Giving the Toy There are two important things parents should know before getting this toy and giving it to the baby. First, check out the Leap Frog My pal website to see if it has the baby's name for downloading. Otherwise, the doll can only say the baby's nick name. My boy's name is JC. They don't have JC on their list but "Jaycee" is acceptable. That's until the toy said "Spell JC, J-A-Y-C-E-E!" If the baby's name is unique and not found, you may request it on their website and it could be considered when they update the site. Second, program the toy before handing it to the baby. Because its so cute and full of features, the baby won't let go anymore once you give it to him without storing the full features.
Unfortunately, the website doesn't give you the freedom to download songs of your own or record your own voice like what we're used to with our Ipods and mp3 players. For a baby's ability and expectations, the games and song selections are already satisfactory. Besides, he might get confused hearing his pal talking in Mom's voice. What I like best is the classic lullabies that can put even the parent to sleep. Like any interactive bed buddy, take the toy away once the baby is asleep. Rolling over the paw can turn the toy on and make sounds that will wake the baby up.
