What can parents and children do with all the time in their hands this summer vacation?  Light bulb moment: do some crafts!  And speaking of light bulb, why not start with something useful and pretty, like a lampshade?  A D-I-Y lampshade would be a great way to dress up your room and give it that much-needed perk-up. Decorate as you please and let your personality ‘shine’ with this crafty project.

You’re going to need:
•    Lamp mechanism, including a socket, flat wire, plug, bulb and a switch
•    Cooking pot tray as lamp frame
•    Acetate
•    Ribbon
•    Wire
•    Handmade paper
•    A pair of scissors
•    Pencil
•    Wire cutters
•    Cutter
•    One-hole punch
•    Double-sided tape
•    Accent materials such as fur

You’ll spend about P200-300 for a lamp, depending on the design and materials you’re going to use.  A neat gift idea : think of themes and create a variety of styles for your lampshades.
