Why She Loves Being a Mom: I love seeing my kids grow up and witnessing each and every milestone in their lives.

The Idea: When I was young, my mom used to make yema and polvoron for our baon in school. My siblings and I would sell it to our neighbors and relatives. When I got to high school, I managed to make my own mini store of candies on our street. And as I surfed SmartParenting.com.ph, I was encouraged to make an online shop for sweets.

On Her Inspiration: My mom is my inspiration because she’s the one who exposed me to business at an early age. For my designs, I do research or sometimes, the ideas just pop into my head. I really love sweets! It’s my dream to have a patisserie, even just a home-based one.

On Balancing Work with Family Time: Baking becomes bonding time with my kids. They watch what I’m doing and once I’m done, we have a cupcake party! My family is very involved in my business. They accompany me to party venues when my clients require a full set-up. My son Charles is my Quality Controller/Print Ad Model and my daughter Ricci is my assistant and food taster. My husband is in charge of finances and accounting.

Advice for Aspiring Mompreneurs: Love what you do so that it won’t seem like work in the end.
