Being a mom is a full time job. Juggling several duties as a cook, teacher, provider, leader, disciplinarian and maintenance head can be exhausting, and surely we deserve a reward. What gifts do Moms want for Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 8? Our Smart Parenting Forum members tell us.

5. An entire day off
Mommy Colet Isiasa is a stay-at-home mom who is also breastfeeding. She doesn’t get to have "me-time" and her mind is always fixated on house chores and caring for the baby. For Mother's Day she just wants an entire day off starting with breakfast in bed, go to a park and read a book all afternoon. Dinner with the whole family in a nice restaurant (so she won’t have to do cooking duties) will cap the evening nicely.

7. A new dress or bag
A sure cure for someone who feels ‘losyang’? Get them a new dress or a bag. Mommy Biancamer dela Rosa, who gave birth last February, has not been to the mall since she have birth in February and hasn’t bought anything for herself since. Her dresses don’t fit anymore, and she could use some help buying personal effects.

8. A daytrip with the family
Mommy Reina Gonzales thinks that Mother's Day is a special date that should be celebrated with the family, thus she wants to go to church and rejoice in the blessings they have received … although she is pretty sure her husband is planning a surprise.

11. A Bible audiobook
Mommy Irene Espanola says she is not very religious but praying the rosary and hearing mass calms her. Whenever she feels troubled and disturbed, she prays. She says single moms like her has moments when they feel alone but her connection with God is what strengthens her, and a Bible audiobook would make a great gift.

18. A copy of the cookbook Mastering the Art of French Cooking by Julia Child
Mommy Vanessa Palad-Salosagcol says she has always loved food and anything that has to do with it -- cooking, baking and eating. She saw this book from the movie Julie & Julia in 2009 and was enthralled. Though she has no formal culinary training, she wants to try the recipes featured in the book. The author Julia Child had made it seem simple and she wants to experience authentic French cooking without having to spend a fortune.
