Who says moms can’t have fun every now and then? Here are some hot spots in the metro for the ultimate girls’ night out.

These days, the set-up in most families is not anymore your stereotypical inebriated husband clumsily plowing through your front door while the stay-at-home wife bellows “At saan ka na naman nanggaling?!”, although we definitely would never encourage overindulging in alcohol or any bad habits. However, going out with same sex friends - and usually for women, with that one flamboyant gay friend that cracks everyone up - has become quite the common practice.

Now that women are much more empowered with careers, businesses and the like - and, for that matter, being a home-maker IS a career - women are more than entitled to have their fun.  For both partners though, moderation is of essence. Gone are the college beer bong days! Now we have to keep our families as a priority, but having an occasional night out with the girls is more than healthy.

And should you be caught figuring out where to go with the girls on a weekend night to take advantage of the holidays, here’s a list of eight good venues you could go to enjoy with your girlfriends:

1. Chocolate Fire

Chocolate Fire

G/F PDCP Building Leviste Street corner Rufino Street, Salcedo Village

Makati City

840-3473

Business Hours: Mon-Thu 10am-12mn, Fri 10am-2am, Sat 5pm-2am, Sun 4pm-11am

This cozy lounge (yes it’s a lounge) is much more than just your run-of-the-mill chocolate stop. Serving a wide array of imported Belgian chocolates in myriad ways (dipped in fruit, blocks, candy coats), you and your friends can chat the night away and luxuriate with a fondue coupled with some fine wine and from around the world. Have a laugh while sampling chocolate liqueurs and marveling at the quintessential shrine to cocoa, right here in the metro. A serene ambience is guaranteed.

I don't think you actually go out sis. I love hanging out at Republiq and I'm a mom of two. Enjoy life my dear, look around next time, every woman is different and I know I'm a great mom and a great party girl, 36 years young. Please tell us where you and your chicas like to chill? Mwah!

Sorry, but just a personal opinion: Most of these places are for the young, party crazy crowd--i.e. Republiq. It would be nice to read an article written by a MOTHER who actually enjoys nights outs and knows where the best places in the Metro are, and appreciates the kind of relaxation mothers are looking for. Not just a PR article. Please give us authentic reviews, for real moms. Thanks.
