We're always on the lookout for fun and unique ideas for games and activities for kids. And we just found another one thanks to the video above showing a twist on the classic Tic Tac Toe.
Devised by Patrekur Johannesson, coach for the Austrian Men's Handball National, Tic Tac Toe 2.0 (as we like to call it) is just as easy to play as the classic only this time it requires the players to get off their bums and get moving.
Instead of only two players, the game is played with two teams composing of three players each. The X and O are replaced by colored shirts--one color for each team and one shirt for each member. The two teams compete via a relay race, placing one shirt one at a time in hula hoops that are arranged on the floor to represent the Tic Tac Toe grids.
The winning team has to win three games in a row. If all six shirts are placed down but no team has won, the players continue by moving one shirt at a time to a different spot until a team has won.
It's great and fun exercise, requiring fast reflexes for both the mind and body. Plus, it's simple so even young kids can play.
Don't quite get it? Watch how the kids of the Istres Provence Handball Club play it in the video.
