    Ingredients:

    • 4 pita pockets
    • 6 tbsp. pizza/spaghetti sauce, ready-made
    • 2 - 4 tbsp. olive oil
    • 1 tbsp. chopped onion
    • 4 slices salami/ham, diced
    • 1 green bell pepper, washed and diced
    • 1 medium tomato, washed and diced
    • 1 small can of sliced button mushrooms
    • 1 small can of green olives
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • 4 to 6 lettuce leaves, washed
    • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese


    Steps:

    1. Heat oil in a skillet. When warm, sauté the onions.
    2. Add salami or ham until meat changes color.
    3. Add bell pepper, tomatoes, mushrooms, and olives.
    4. Add tomato sauce. Season with salt and pepper.
    5. To assemble, place one lettuce leaf in the pita. Fill pita halfway with your cooked filling.
    6. Top with a generous amount of cheddar cheese.
    7. Wrap with a cloth napkin and place in a clear airtight container.
