  • Aphrodisiacs: they say these are foods that can…give a little more spice to your love life. Although research has proven them mostly ineffective (but “preliminary evidence is slightly more encouraging” for women, says Mayo Clinic), it can't hurt to try, right? Plus, you'll get a delicious dinner out of it so, who knows, it may just get you a little more luck in the bedroom. Here are some thought-to-be aphrodisiacs and the recipes you can make with them:

    1. Bacon-wrapped Filet Mignon with Fresh Oyster Gravy



    Oyster has long been touted as an aphrodisiac. What they are though is rich in zinc, a nutrient that was once lacking in a lot of people's diet, says WebMD. Eating oysters could have therefore improved people's overall health and consequently, their sex drive. Besides, what could be more indulgent than steak and oysters?

    Makes 6 servings

    6 pieces beef tenderloin (about 160 grams each)
    12 pieces bacon, smoked
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon pepper
    2 tablespoons olive oil
    1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
    1/4 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed
    1/2 onion, minced
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    2 tablespoons butter
    2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
    1/2 cup chicken stock
    1 teaspoon mustard
    1 cup fresh oyster meat
    1/2 tablespoon parsley leaves, chopped
    reserved steak drippings
    salt and pepper to taste
    4 tablespoons cream
    1 teaspoon truffle oil

    2.  Piri-Piri Chicken Wings

    1 kilo chicken wings
    salted water, for boiling
    1/4 cup unsalted butter
    1/4 cup olive oil
    1 cup red bell peppers, minced
    5 cloves garlic, minced
    1 to 2 teaspoons chili flakes
    1 to 2 teaspoons hot sauce
    1 teaspoon paprika
    1 teaspoon salt
    juice and zest from 1 lemon

Makes sense since you're more prone to thinking about sex when you're food is shaped like one of the main components of it.
