Babies and kids come with a lot of, well, baggage. You know what we mean. You have kids, and it's like you're voluntarily surrendering to clutter and bulky items, from toys to the playpen. Even worse, babies seem to grow out of their stuff faster than you can change a diaper! You’ll find yourself buying more stuff even before you’ve gotten rid of the old stuff. Hay, my gulay!
The good news is we found an online marketplace that could help with our clutter dilemmas. It’s called Carousell, a website and an app where you can sell pre-loved items -- and shop for good deals. Carousell began in Singapore and can now be found in 19 cities around the world. It claims to be the top shopping app in Singapore, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.
Carousell’s goal is to make selling and buying pre-loved items easier and more user-friendly. To put an item on the market, you just have to create an account, snap a photo of the item, type in its price and description, and you’re good to go. They say it can be done in as little as 30 seconds!
If you’re shopping, Carousell lets you chat with the sellers and leave comments. In a nutshell, you get rid of tambak, earn income and shop for bargains.
We took a look at what they offered that may be useful for parents with young kids. Here are some we found: (take note that these may have been sold by the time you read this.)
This pre-loved Graco Pack 'n Play can be bought for P3,500. A brand new model has a retail price of around P5,000. The one above is being sold by Karen Ronco who's also selling a Chicco stroller and Graco high chair at P3,500 each.
We have yet to try sell or buy anything at Carousell, but it is fun to browse. With a little digging, there's a good deal or two to be found. Check out Carousell.com to see what other things they have on offer. Who knows, you may get tempted to get rid of your tambak this way too.
