• New Year, New Home: 4 New Year’s Resolutions Worth Considering

Once January rolls in, most of us would exclaim: "New Year, New Me!" Given the promise of a fresh start, we list down all the fun things that we can't wait to try and new destinations that we can't wait to visit. Aside from these personal goals, you also need to allot some space for #homegoals on your list. Setting these goals can make you feel more excited about improving your space–whether it's by adding decor or organizing it.

To help you start 2016 with a bang, here are four ideas that you can check out:

    Declutter
We have to admit, letting go of things that we no longer need is easier said than done. However, if you still keep school papers from a decade ago or furniture pieces that are beyond repair, then you must schedule a general cleaning this week. Schedule your cleaning and organizing activities accordingly so you still have time to accommodate visitors and prepare Media Noche.

Starting the year with a clean and healthy home can make you feel more positive and excited about the New Year.

Try a new organizing system or trick
How many times do you clean and organize your cabinet in a week? If your current organizing system–whether it's in the bedroom, living area, or kitchen–no longer works for you, then it's time to step up your game and try something new. Consider reading up on the KonMari method and see how it can help you improve your space and change your mindset about tidying up.

    Save up for new furniture
When scouting for a new sofa or dining set, you usually check the price tag first. If it's beyond your means, you usually keep it as a wish and before you know it, another year has passed without you buying that piece you've been longing for.

This 2016, we challenge you to invest in a furniture that you've been eyeing for months. Set your priorities and be ready to make little sacrifices. Cut back on some things that aren't that important like expensive dinners and coffee. Keep the money that you will save each month and we're sure that in no time at all, the piece that you like will be delivered right at your doorstep.

Work on a mini or major renovation
Thinking of changing things in your bedroom? How about turning the balcony into a small garden? Whether it's a big or small project, it can be part of your goals next year. Research for pegs, save enough money, and don't forget to consult with a professional.
