Preggy bump selfies, gender reveal announcements, baby monthly milestone snapshots, scenic family photos on vacation. These are just a few examples of what a mom might see while scrolling through her social media feed. Now, imagine you're friends with Barbie, and she's posting these exact same photos. Can't picture it? Don't worry. Someone on the Internet already has.
Instagram account tiff_thebarbie is a tongue-in-cheek rendition of the kinds of photos millennial moms today like to share on social media. (Really, we’re all guilty.) But because she is Barbie after all, her photos are much better than ours. LOL!
In this fictional and digital parenting life, Barbie (named Tiff in this world) is married to Ken, and they’re parents to two children, Kelly and Wyatt. The family makes an impeccable, all-blonde bunch whose hair always seems to be immaculately styled even when outdoors.
The creator of the account, who chooses to stay anonymous, told Huffington Post reveals she isn’t a mom, but “Tiff” takes inspiration from other families. “When I started the account I wasn’t planning to give her such a fun life or family, I just kept getting ideas along the way!” she told Babble.
With nearly 60k followers, Tiff has racked up quite a following. Reading through the comments, followers are loving the creator’s attention to detail. “I love how much thought and little details go into your pieces!” said one commenter on a post where the kids have set up a lemonade stand (you’ll notice a handmade sign by the kids and even tiny money in the tip jar).
On the other hand, we can’t help but chuckle at the all-too-familiar captions she’s written to accompany the photos. Here’s one for a post where Tiff is rubbing lotion on her pregnant belly: “Trying to avoid the ‘tiger stripes’ aka stretch marks. This is part of my night routine. Ken also massages my swollen feet even if they smell like cheese.”
