One amazingly talented dad is getting praised left and right for the magical costumes and dresses he makes for his family, and you’ll get why when you see them.
Hailing from Pangasinan, 32-year old dad to three Nephi Garcia is a fashion designer. His focus used to be high fashion, but he recently tried his hand at designing costumes. And we’re so glad that he did!
“I didn’t realize cosplay was my thing until just recently. But I know my wife and my kids love it as well,” he told Insider People.
And it's hard not to love cosplay when you've got a dad like Nephi! Check out this absolutely incredible transforming dress he made for his daughter Lili. (Click on the photo to play the video below.)
The costume can change from Belle’s everyday blue dress to her iconic yellow ball gown in mere seconds. “Lili really loves the transformation dresses,” he said. “And my son really loves to be dressed as the villains, especially Gaston,” Nephi told Buzzfeed.
There’s also this Cinderella dress with a veil that’s being held up by birds!

I try to make costumes that go outside of the box,” Nephi told Buzzfeed. “I hate repeating designs, so I always try to vary each dress so that they’re unique.”
Would you believe that it only takes him around four to six hours to make one of his children’s costumes? It does. His adult-sized costumes take longer with anywhere from 12 to 48 hours of work.
Nephi’s costumes are sold on a made-to-order basis and starts at $500 for a children’s costume. It’s steep but he promises quality output. “We are currently working on a mass-produced Designer Daddy line to accommodate all budgets,” says the Designer Daddy shop, Nephi’s store.
He dreams of someday making costumes for Broadway shows or movies, he says. “But I will never give up making pieces for people who are not in the industry — I like to give them quality outfits that they can’t get anywhere else.”
And you ask what Nephi’s currently busy with? “My daughter really wants me to make a frog costume that turns into a Tiana ballgown,” he added. “And my wife suggested that I make a Princess Aurora dress that starts with her peasant dress, transforms into her pink dress, and then transforms into her blue dress.” Tall orders, dad.
