What exactly is a “gruffalo”? You’ll find yourself scratching your head if you haven’t heard of this magical creature born out of someone’s wild imagination. Based on the award-winning children’s storybook by Julia Donaldson, the story is about a mouse who comes up with a make-believe creature - the half grizzly bear and half buffalo Mr. Gruffalo - in order to avoid being eaten by predators as he makes his way in the woods.
Since May 2001, the 32-page book has been translated onstage with the musical rendition of the tale, with performances in London, Australia, Hong Kong, Canada, Singapore, Chile, New Zealand and Poland.
Filled with colorful characters, fun songs and an adventure for kids aged three years old and up, “The Gruffalo”, produced by Tall Stories, lands on Philippine shores this February 15 to 17 at the Rockwell Tent in Makati.
