Introduce your child to Halloween a few months before the day. A little pep talk goes a long way. Talk to your child about what scares him or her, and be extra observant in the months before the occasion. Imagine being four and terrified of spiders, then walking into a home you’ve always felt safe in, only to find the walls crawling with your eight-legged phobia (fake, of course, but not to a four-year-old). Let kids know beforehand that the big, spooky vampire they may see around the house is just kuya in disguise.
