  • Beauty Gonzales out to prove motherhood is not a roadblock to her career

At the presscon for her upcoming show Pusong Ligaw on ABS-CBN, the actress admitted she was scared that the pregnancy had blown away her career. "Lahat na yata ng simbahan sa Europe, lahat ng country na pinuntahan namin, kinatok ko. Sabi ko, 'Lord, gusto ko pong bumalik [sa showbiz].' Kasi, gusto ko pong patunayan sa kanila na hindi ako sayang."

After being away from the limelight for a year, Beauty is confident she can still make it in showbiz. "I believe that I got the talent and naniniwala sila sa talent ko. Buti pinaniwala nila ulit sa akin," she said, adding that it pays to be good to her co-workers.

Beauty most especially thanks her now fiance Norman Crisologo. "He was there for me, and he believed in me, na kaya ko pang bumalik." Another one of Beauty's lucky charms, of course, is her daughter Olivia. The couple will make their family 'official' when they tie the knot in a simple and intimate ceremony this year. (pep.ph)

Emotional Michelle Van Eimeren thanks Ogie, Regine for taking care of Leila

In an episode of ABS-CBN's Magandang Buhay on April 20, the singer-songwriter gave his ex-wife a message. "Chelle, thank so much for the trust that you have given Regine and I to take care of Leila at this time. It matters to us that you trust us and we love you so dearly for that," said Ogie. Replying to his message, Michelle explained that it was hard for her to send Leila here, but also said that as a mom, she needed to support her in fulfilling her dreams. The fact that Leila has another set of parents here made it a bit easier for her, so she says she's very lucky to have Ogie and Regine.

"Napakabait naman si Reg, si Mama Reg niya. Mahal na mahal ko siya kasi, siyempre, 'pag meron siyang [Leila] problema, meron siyang kailangan, 'pag masyado akong malayo, nandun siya [Regine] sa tabi niya kaagad, at text niya [Regine] sa akin o tawag niya sa akin kaagad. At alam ko I can trust her with my daughters," a teary-eyed Michelle said. Many have always admired and praised their unique family setup, which always puts their kids first. (pep.ph)

LOOK: Hello Kitty jeepney in PH!

We've heard of Hello Kitty cafes and restaurants, but we haven't quite seen a Hello Kitty-themed jeepney until now -- and in our own soil, in Pampanga, no less. Paul Sese shared the photos of this rare jeepney on Facebook, and it is getting the attention of netizens nationwide. "Akala niyo mga coffee shops at salon lang ang pwedeng mag-Hello Kitty theme? Meron ding jeep!" he wrote as a caption for the photo set. As you can see, the jeepney is pink, and Hello Kitty's face is all over its interiors -- the steering wheel, dashboard, inside roof, and passengers’ seats. Paul said he was the first passenger who boarded the jeepney on his way home, so he was able to take great photos. (wheninmanila.com)

The 2017 Palarong Pambansa is all set and ready
The Department of Education (DepEd) and the provincial government of Antique have already given the green light for the opening of the 2017 Palarong Pambansa here on Sunday, April 23. DepEd regional public information officer Lea Belleza said they are now in the final stage of preparation, as they address concerns about the accommodations of the athletes that would participate in the annual event. The 40-meter grandstand extension, a VIP stage, new lawn tennis courts, and a rubberized track oval have already been completed. Portable toilets and newly-constructed comfort rooms are also in place at the Evelio B. Javier Sports Complex in time for the formal opening. President Rodrigo Duterte is expected to grace the occasion, according to some sources from the local police and executives of Antique. Holding the Palarong Pambansa in Antique for the first time is expected to boost not only the local economy but also will promote the hidden wonders of this Western Visayas province. (abs-cbn.com)
