Hey Dad, are you a Star Wars fan? If so, you might want to check this out.
Tez Gelmer built this as a present for his daughter’s first birthday. It’s a rocker inspired by the speeder bike from Star Wars VI: Return of the Jedi. It even comes with lights and sounds.
For comparison, here's the speeder bikes from the movie

And here's Tez Gelmer's rocker. Puts the typical horse rocker to shame, doesn’t it?

On his Instructables account, Gelmer explains work he’s done for the rocker. He said he based the design on the original concept drawings for the speeder bike that he found on the internet. He also used high-res photos of scale models of the bike to fill in some of the bike’s details. That’s how he got the rocker to look so much like the original thing.
Safety was, of course, his number one priority. “My first consideration was strength and stability for the safety of the little ones, as though this project is for my 1y/o, I also have a 5y/o who no doubt will want a turn,” he wrote.
After lots of thinking, planning, building and love, his daughter (dressed as Princess Leia) now has her very own custom built speeder bike rocker!
Cute baby on a cool rocker. Good job, Dad!
