• Chuck’s Grub Fish and Chips Opens First ‘Chippy Shops’

    Nibble on some tasty, healthy grub this Lent at the newest fish ‘n chips place in town.
  • Chuck's Grub Fish n Chips“Chippy” is the local term the British use when referring to their local fish & chip shop. To come full circle in bringing the traditional fish & chip experience to Manila, Chuck’s Grub Fish & Chips has opened its first Chippy shops at the Sky Garden in SM City North EDSA and the Lower Ground Floor of SM Megamall Mega A.

    No longer just a takeaway kiosk, the Chippy shop is kitted out with dining tables and comfy chairs for you to sit and enjoy a meal with family and friends. It’s casually designed with pallet wood, clean white walls, and bright lighting to give off a welcoming vibe.

    Each store has its own special features. The Sky Garden outlet has an outdoor deck area ideal for families with little ones who just can’t keep to their seats. Meanwhile, the shop at SM Megamall has a fun interactive feel with chalkboards that kids can draw on, and prints of a vintage tube map and the London skyline on the walls.

    Apart from having more space, the newest Chuck’s Grub Fish & Chips branches also have a bigger menu. Ever wondered what that crisp fillet would taste like in a sandwich or have you wanted to eat it Pinoy-style with rice? You very well can, thanks to the expanded fish menu.

    Since the Chuck’s Grub chips have become as popular as the fish they’re served with, they’ve been dressed up with cheese sauce, tomato relish, and bacon crumble to give customers the option to enjoy Sloppy Chips.

    The selection of Nibbles has also increased. Taking its place on the menu beside the Calamari and Shrimp Popcorn is the Chuck’s Fish Burger—a panko breaded fish patty sandwiched in a soft burger bun with tomatoes, lettuce, onions, and cheese. Gooey cheddar Jalapeño Poppers served with a side of tomato relish or crisp Onion Rings might just be what you want to sink your teeth into. And don’t forget dessert! Give your meal a sweet ending by trying the deep fried fudge bar that’s served with a happy helping of whipped cream.

    On a healthier note, if you’re looking for a side of greens to go with your fish & chips, Salad Shakers are also available. Great even as a light meal on their own, salads come in 3 variations: a vibrant Ceasar with bacon bits and croutons, a savory Worcestershire dressing paired with cashew nuts and corn, and a sweet mango vinaigrette complimented with crabstick and corn.

    Chuck’s Grub Fish & Chips is happy to satisfy your cravings, seven days a week, at five different locations. Find a grab-and-go kiosk at Power Plant Mall (inside Rustan’s Fresh supermarket), the Food Choices at TriNoma, and Fun Ranch in Pasig.
