It seems only yesterday when John Prats and Isabel Oli had their four seasons-inspired wedding in Batangas, and now their firstborn Lilly Feather (LiFe) is already one year old! In keeping with the 'Around the World' theme of the little one's pre-birthday photo shoot, the birthday party held at the Blue Leaf Cosmopolitan in Quezon City was filled with travel decor like mini-replicas of France's Eiffel Tower, New York's Statue of Liberty, Singapore's Merlion, England's telephone booth, among others. World maps, globes, toy airplanes, hot air balloons, and luggage trinkets were also used to complete the look.

The venue exuded all shades of pastel colors, as the family of three sported camo travel outfits. Some of the celebrities who attended the bash are LiFe's tita and tito Camille Prats and VJ Yambao with their sons Nathan and Isaiah, Scarlet Snow Belo, Patrick and Nikka Garcia with daughters Chelsea and Patrice, LJ Reyes and Paolo Contis, Diana Zubiri and husband Andy Smith, and more! We're sure the little one-year-old had a blast in her party!

    Happy Birthday, Stellar Cipriano!

It was a stellar celebration -- literally -- as Stellar, the daughter of Chynna Ortaleza and Kean Cirpriano, marked her first birthday recently. "We took you on a simple journey. Starting with prayers of thanksgiving & continued guidance, the warmth of family, food, song, a lovely cake, a chance to roam, a chance to love and finally a chance to be. So kick off your shoes as often as you want and walk with grace and integrity. I am humbled that the Lord chose your Daddy and I to take care of your bright soul. I love you! Happy 1st Birthday!" wrote the actress as caption for her Instagram album.

Keeping the event low-key, Chynna and Kean took their daughter to a museum to mark the moment, according to Kean's Instagram album. All the birthday posts of the couple were dated three days ago, on April 21, although the couple never divulged Stellar's exact birth date.

"Happy Birthday to my Life Compass! Thanks for taking me to the right direction my Love! Now I know exactly what unconditional love is all about.  Oh what joy and inspiration you bring my peanut! Maraming salamat anak! Daddy will forever be here for you. I love you, you beautiful being! I love you Stellar!" Kean wrote in a separate post. Happy birthday, Stellar!

LJ Reyes hopes son Aki will learn "old school na laro"

The single mom admits that her parenting style leans more towards old school, which is why her son Aki doesn't own a tablet and only has a cell phone "in case of emergency." She is glad he is now into basketball, swimming, and badminton because "Gusto kong maging active siya sa sports tulad ko noong bata ako. Okey sa akin yung napapawisan siya, nadudumihan kesa yung tumututok siya sa mga gadgets," said LJ during the press launch of the GMA dramedy D' Originals. She laments that kids today are not a fan of playing outdoors anymore and are missing out on playtime with other children because of gadgets. "Ayokong sanayin si Aki sa ganyan kasi maagang lalabo mga mata niya at yung posture niya, masisira," LJ added. She is hoping that by playing old-school games like patintero, tumbang preso, and piko, Aki would have a happy childhood like she had. (pep.ph)

Robredo launches new book about late husband Jesse

In time for her 52nd birthday, Vice President Leni Robredo led the launch of a new children's book about her late husband Jesse Robredo's life. The book entitled 'Nay Ano Ang Bayani? Ang Kwento ni Jesse Robredo, published by the Jesse Robredo Foundation, aims to share to younger kids the former Department of Interior and Local Governance (DILG) secretary's  leadership and public service. "Tayo pong lahat na nakakakilala kay Jesse, alam natin na yung kanyang buhay at yung mga aral na makukuha sa buhay niya ay talaga namang napakalaking inspirasyon para sa ating lahat. Kaya gusto natin itong ibahagi, lalong-lalo na sa mga kabataan na naghahanap ng bayani na gustong maging inspirasyon din," Robredo said. She adds that she considers the book a gift not only for her birthday but also for her three daughters. (cnnphilippines.com)

FDA: No child under 18 should take cough syrup with codeine
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced on April 20 an update to a previous safety warning against the use of prescription medications containing codeine for children under the age of 18. Codeine and tramadol, both found in some cough medicines and pain relievers, are opioids, a narcotic that could cause dangerously slowed breathing in some children, which could lead to death -- which is why the FDA warns against the use of these medications on any child, especially under the age of 12. However, these drugs could also lead children aged 12 to 18 who are obese or have obstructive sleep apnea or severe lung disease to develop increased risk for breathing difficulties.

The FDA is considering adding regulations on the labels of over-the-counter cough syrups and recommends that parents talk to a doctor before giving their children these medications. The agency also plans on requiring that these prescription drugs bear warnings on the label for breastfeeding mothers, as they found "numerous cases of excess sleepiness and serious breathing problems in breastfed infants, including one death" while conducting research.
