LOOK: Donna Cruz's teen daughter Belle looks just like her
Singer-actress Donna Cruz generated buzz on social media recently when she posted a photo of her teenage daughter, Ysabella Adriana or Belle for short (the Dsiney princess with the same name is Donna's favorite). The proud mom reposted the "#barelytheremakeup" photo from her daughter's Instagram account. Donna commented, "Ay, sus ka gwapa jud ng baby nako! Princess Belle, love you!" Her daughter replied in the comments section, "Thanks, mommy! Love you, too!"

Angelika de la Cruz opens up about her battle with post-pregnancy weight
After taking a break from showbiz to take care of her youngest son, the 35-year-old actress admitted she was uncomfortable getting back in the business especially when she had not returned to her pre-pregnancy weight. "Naranasan ko nang mag-taping na malaki ako, ang hirap. Kapag unfit ka, tapos artista ka... hindi ako kumportable, hindi rin ako makaarte," Angelika told Pep.ph. She revealed she emotionally struggled even if she gained almost the same amount of weight during her first and second pregnancy. "It was easier, nine years younger. Ayoko mang aminin, pero kapag [tumatanda] ka na, mahirap na," Angelika said. Now, thanks to a vegan diet for four months now and Muay Thai, Angelika has already lost 77 pounds; she has about 10 pounds to go to achieve her goal weight. "Bonus lang yung pagliit, pero mas healthy ang feeling mo," Angelika stressed. (pep.ph)
It's going to be a girl for Pauleen and Vic Sotto!
The sex of the couple's first baby was revealed via a two-minute gender-reveal clip uploaded on noontime show Eat Bulaga's official Facebook page. The video showed two teams, Team Lebron for a baby boy, and Team Jessica for a baby girl. The final reveal was made through LJ Moreno-Alapag's lollicakes that contain pink fillings to signify it was going to be a girl. However, Pauleen, who is four months along the way, clarified with Pep.ph that they are still thinking of a name. They only called it "Team Jessica" because of Vic's interview with news anchor Jessica Soho where he quipped that he would name the baby, "Jessica Sotto." We can safely assume he said this in jest. Select public schools will include Korean as language elective for high school Starting this school year, 10 select public high schools in Metro Manila will offer Korean as one of its foreign language electives. The Korean Embassy and the Department of Education (DepEd) signed on Wednesday last week the agreement that adds Korean to the list of foreign language electives such as Chinese (Mandarin), French, German, Japanese (Nihongo), and Spanish. The Special Program in Foreign Language (SPFL) was first implemented in 2009. It aims "to prepare the graduates for the culturally diverse global workspace" by learning skills that "are fundamental in acquiring communicative competence in a second foreign language," the DepEd said. SPFL is open to Grades 7 to 12 "who have demonstrated competence in English" based on the National Achievement Test (NAT) results, and "are capable of learning another foreign language." It can be offered as an additional subject, or as a substitute for Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE). (cnnphilippines.com) HOR approves bill on "correct" rendition of Lupang Hinirang, stiffer penalties House Bill No. 5224 requires everyone to sing along to our national anthem, "Lupang Hinirang," when it is played in public. The proposed bill states that when the National Anthem is played, singing along "shall be mandatory and must be done with fervor." The word "mandatory" is not included in the current law. All persons must stand at attention facing the Philippine flag if displayed, and should salute the flag with their right palm over their left chest. If a flag is not visible, all must face the band or conductor. The bill will also mandate the National Historical Council to disseminate the official musical score sheet to standardize the way we sing "Lupang Hinirang." There are exceptions, but the proposed measure seeks to impose stiffer penalties of P50,000 to P100,000 to "any person who, or entity which violates any provision" -- a big jump from the P5,000 to P20,000 fines provided for by the current Flag and Heraldic Code of the Philippines.
