  • Three months after welcoming their second child, Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes’ son Jose Sixto Dantes IV was baptized yesterday, July 28, 2019, at St. Alphonsus Mary de Liguori Parish church in Magallanes, Makati City.

“Welcome to the Christian World, mahal ko. Te quiero mucho Mi Hijo!” Marian wrote on her Instagram Stories where she uploaded a series of photos taken before and during Ziggy’s baptism. Based on the photos, it was an intimate affair with the little boy surrounded by his parents, Ate Zia, family, and friends.

“May the Lord continue to shine His face on you baby Sixto! Welcome to the Christian world!” Kim wrote as a caption for the video of Ziggy’s baptism he shared on Instagram.

You can hear Marian soothing Baby Ziggy who cried after the priest poured holy water on his head. “It’s okay, mahal ko. Cold?” the mom of two said as she kissed him gently on his cheek. “Gusto po niya warm,” she quipped. Ziggy calmed down quickly as Marian cradled him.

Sid, one of Ziggy’s ninongs or “back up” dads, wrote: “I’ll be here to guide and help you, and to be a good example. Congratulations on your Baptism. This particular day marks the start of your spiritual journey. May it bring lasting peace and joy to your life!”

Marian and Dingdong opted for a neon-themed baptismal party. Ziggy had his name, Sixto IV, custom-made into blue neon lights. It was propped amid a colorful backdrop of vertical ribbons.

Apart from the baby blue cake with booties cake-topper, Ziggy also had a vintage-themed cake topped with a huge Rubix cube and The Beatles vinyl record. On the side, the cake sported an old MTV logo, “I heart (love) 80’s” and more vinyl records.

The reception was held at Versus Barcade at the Uptown Parade, in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City. Richard’s firstborn son, Zion, was seen playing arcade games with his dad. Ate Zia and a friend also gave his baby brother’s guests a performance of “Bahay Kubo,” and danced to some of the songs with her mom. Even Ziggy got into the festivities, thank to mom Marian!

Marian labored for 10 hours before Ziggy was born on April 16, 2019. Since then, the new mom of two has been dedicated to breastfeeding her baby boy, just as she did with Zia. She also donated excess breast milk she had stashed for Ziggy.

Welcome to the Christian world, Ziggy!
