In Hong Kong, the very first Hello Kitty-themed Chinese restaurant just opened.
Located at Yau Ma Tei in Kowloon, the restaurant is expected to draw in crowds when it officially launches on June 1st of this year.
Man Kwong, the owner, says that the character is more popular in Hong Kong than in the feline character's country of origin, Japan.
Aside from Hello Kitty plates and décor, customers are going to be served food with the character’s shape or face -— and expect them to be healthy, too.
The owner is the founder of a Chinese-language health magazine, and also wants to promote healthy eating in a family-friendly atmosphere at her establishment.
