    2. PNOY signs law to make poor students a priority in scholarships

    Republic Act No. 10687 was signed into law by President Benigno Auiqno III on October 15. The In effect, the top 10 graduate of every publich high school will be prioritized and given government-funded scholarships when enrollign in college. Other underprivileged sutdents can also avail of the granst-in-aid. The law, which was dubbed as a "landmark social legislation" for Filipino youth was principally authored by Senator Juan Edgardo Angara. (gmanetwork.com)  

    3. Tom Hardy and wife welcomes first child
    Mad Max: Fury Road actor Tom Hardy and his wife Charlotte Riley have welvomed their first child, Us Weekly reports. The two announced that they're pregnant when they walked the red carpet for the British actor's Legend movie premiere. The couple got enagaged in 2010 and secretly married last year.     4. Beer-flavored ice cream, anyone?

    Ben & Jerry have partnered with Colorado-based New Belgium Brewing to create a new limited-edition beer and ice cream. The new beer-flavored ice cream--Salted Caramel Brown-ie Ale is made with New Belgium Brown Ale, salted caramel swirls and chunks of fudge brownie.     5. Actress Amanda Peet releases first children's book 
    In time for the coming holiday celebrations, actress Amanda Peet co-wrote a book entitled "Dear Santa, Love Rachel Rosenstein."
