  • 1. Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera's daughter to be baptized in February

    Primtime actors Dingdong Dantes and wife Marian Rivera are already making a list of Baby Zia's ninongs and ninangs. The almost-two-month-old little girl is set to be baptized next month, February. On CelebriTV, Dantes mentioned that Ai Ai delas Alas and Gabby Eigenmann will definitely be Baby Zia's godparents, among others. He also gushed about being a first-time dad: “Napakasarap sa pakiramdam. Sinasabi nila lagi na mapupuyat ka, mga ganun. Actually, wala kaming puyat. Napakabait niya.     2. Maine Mendoza is Queen Elsa in 2016 Disney Channel Asia Calendar

    The 2016 Disney Channel Asia Calendar featuring Maine Mendoza (a.k.a. Yaya Dub) as Queen Elsa from the movie Frozen is already available to download for free on the channel's website. Last week, we got to see a behind-the-scenes look at the production of the calendar. Maine's take on the Snow Queen looks like she's certainly "letting go" of inhibitions she may have had starting in the business.     3. Camille Prats has her son's blessing to re-marry
    Actress and TV host Camille Prats is engaged to businessman fiancé VJ Yambao, but not before she had a heart-to-heart talk with her son. "Kaya kinausap ko nang maayos si Nathan. Kung gusto ba niya si VJ to be his next dad," she said in an interview. Camille also said that he needs to really think about it "because whatever his decision is, yun na ang pagkakasunduan namin." The day after, Nathan told her that he also wants VJ to be part of their lives. Camille and VJ are set to marry in 2017 and wedding preps are already underway. (pep.ph

     

    4. Neil Patrick Harris is Count Olaf!
    The former How I Met Your Mother actor is set to step into Count Olaf's shoes in the upcoming TV adaptation of Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events. Count Olaf is the greedy man who takes care of the three orphaned children Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire after their parents died in a fire. The series is set to begin filming in March this year. It will be released via the online video-streaming service Netflix. (hypable.com)

     

    5. Scientists identify gene mutation linked to ovarian cancer
    A new study published in the Journal of National Cancer Institute has found that the gene mutation called BRIP1 could increase a woman's chances of developing ovarian cancer by five percent. Of the four gene mutations that they looked at in around 8,000 women, those who had the BRIP1 mutation had the highest risk even if they didn't have a family history of ovarian cancer. Five percent is a big deal, as it is more than three times higher than a typical woman's risk of acquiring the disease. (time.com
