“The Filipino Flash” boxer Nonito Donaire and wife Rachel recently welcomed their second child. Nonito says it was the “scariest day” of his life, adding, “ I felt like my entire world was going to be taken from me." His Facebook page admin wrote: "Rachel was known to have placenta previa during this pregnancy and was considered high risk." She also had "another complication- placenta accreta, where the placenta grows itself into the uterus. He scheduled it [C-section] for 8pm on the 16th. Thank God for Rachel already being in the hospital bc she hemorraged at 11a and lost 2.2 liters of blood. Dr. Michelle Lewis, Rachels Obgyn, was quick to respond and after getting Jarel Logan to safely, had to work even harder to save Rachel from hemorrhaging more. Jarel Logan has no feeding tubes n no respiratory tubes and eats 30ccs per feeding on his own. Strong and healthy boy at 5.2lbs 18 inches.

Rachel is stabilizing and all tests show great improvement and recovery despite Rachel refusing medication for pain bc she's breastfeeding. As far as the ordeal, her only comment at this point was "I fought to be here. I made that choice." (pep.ph)
