  •  1. Hayden Kho Makes Scarlet Snow's Instagram Private

    One of the country's "it" babies' Instagram accounts has switched to private mode. Dad Hayden Kho made the decision to change daughter Scarlet Snow's Instagram account private "for her protection." The doting dad says people can still request permission to follow her account and that those who are already following her would still be able to see her posts. One of Scarlet's posts "read," "So, Daddy, when you make my account private later my friends can still see me and I can still talk to them, right? Awesome. And others can still follow me and I can follow them if I want to? Great! And I can have ice cream for lunch later, too, right?" Yes, Scarlet already had her first taste of ice cream. (pep.ph)


    2. Dawn Zulueta's daughter almost kidnapped?
    According to GMA News, unidentified men tried to kidnap the youngest child of actress Dawn Zulueta and Representative Antonio Lagadameo of Davao del Norte. Cong. Lagdameo's legal counsel, Rudolph Jurad, said the incident happpened at Ayisha's school in Makati City on Wednesday, June 22, which happens to be the birthday of the young Lagdameo daughter. The 7-year-old had no security detail, but the one with her was able to brush off the alleged male kidnapper ("nahawi yung lalaki") who fled after the incident. The police also found out that unknown men riding a Toyota Innova have been surveilling the child and were asking about Dawn's shooting schedule. The congressman has also been receiving threats since late May, but dismissed them as election-related threats. The case is now with the National Bureau of Investigation, while the Cong. Lagdameo and Dawn have not released any further statement. (gmanetwork.com)


    3. DepEd launches self-contained classrooms

    The Department of Education in partnership with Microsoft Philippines has launched the EGG project, a self-contained classroom that can be transported to and from far-flung areas where electricity and connectivity are not available. "It contains everything you need from the content, technology, and the power itself. It generates its own power and water, and it can be connected to the internet through television frequencies," said David Tapang, Microsoft Philippines' education lead. The EGG, which can accommodate 30 students at a time, can connect to the Internet via TV White Space, the unused VHF and UHF TV channels, uses solar panels, and is equipped with an Atmospheric Water Generation Unit. The first EGG classroom will be set up in a school in Bohol in July. (mb.com.ph)

    5. GhostbustersHotel Transylvania are coming to TV
    Weeks before the premiere of the new Ghostbusters movie, Sony has announced that it's also ready working on an animated series version for the small screen. The animated TV series is set in the year 2050 and follows a new generation of Ghostbusters as they travel to places hunting ghosts with the help of local reinforcements. Ivan Reitman, the director of the first two Ghostbusters films, is behind the project, which is aiming for a 2018 debut. Another movie-to-TV adaptation Hotel Transylvania is set to premiere in 2017 on Disney Channel. It will revolve around the teenage years of Dracula's daughter Mavis and her friends. Cloudy With A Chance of Meatball will also move to the tube on Cartoon Network on the same year. (ew.com
