Love is everywhere, and no more so than on Valentine’s day. And it doesn’t have to be just about your hubby and yourself. Your kids will love making, giving, and receiving hearty treats from special people just like everybody else.
Lovely Day
Spend time with your little special someone.
ACTIVITIES TO TRY:
- Spot the pink. Play a game with your child to see who can spot the most pink and red objects as you walk through the mall or ride the car to Lola’s house.
- Sweet hearts. Bake heart-shaped cookies, and let your child decorate them with lots
of pink icing and heart sprinkles.
SOMETHING TO MAKE: Clear candy hearts

The hardest thing about this project is stopping the kids from eating the candies before you’re
done crafting.
Materials: Thick plastic book cover, scissors, a one-hole puncher, yarn, candy
STEP 1: Cut two identical heart-shapes out of your thick plastic book cover. Place one on top of the other, and use a one-hole puncher to put holes all around the hearts.
STEP 2: Use yarn to “sew” the pieces of plastic together. Don’t thread the yarn through all the holes just yet. Leave an opening big enough to fit candies through.
STEP 3: Fill the heart-shaped pocket with candy (you can use those with wrappers that bear messages, or pick white, pink, or red candies or jelly beans). Once filled, close the opening with yarn and tie in a bow.
