Just because Christmas is just around the corner doesn’t mean that you still can’t spruce up your Christmas décor. Here are 12 crafts you can try out with your kids for some quality bonding time, perfect for some last minute gift wrapping and decorating your home for guest during Noche Buena.

1. Stock full of gifts
Tiny presents will find a cozy home in these personalized stocking.
Materials:
• Red flannel
• White flannel
• Fabric glue
• Scissors
• Fabric markers and embellishments
Step 1: From the red flannel, cut out two stocking shapes. Cut out two cuffs, heels, and toes from the white flannel.
Step 2: Glue all the edges of the stocking together, except the topmost part. Then glue on the white heels, toes, and cuffs on both sides of the stocking. Make sure to leave the top part open.
Step 3: Decorate with fabric markers and other embellishments




3. Tag Along
No more anonymous gifts under the tree!Materials:
• Colored cardboard
• Craft punchers
• Scissors
• Glue
• String
Step 1: Draw and cut tag shapes on colored cardboard.
Step 2: Using a Christmas-themed craft puncher, punch out designs on contrasting cardboard. Get creative with gluing on the punched-out designs on your tags.
Step 3: Punch a hole by the narrow end of your tags. Thread through string or thin ribbon.

4. Let it snow
Create your own winter wonderland at home!Materials:
• Empty glass jar with lid
• Toys
• Glue
• Silver or pearl glitter
• Water
Step 1: Glue toys onto the inside base of the jar’s lid.
Step 2: Fill the jar halfway with water and sprinkle in glitter. You may have to top up the water depending on how much space your toys take up.
Step 3: Screw on the lid onto the jar. You may want to put glue on the jar’s mouth before attaching the lid to provide an extra seal.


5.a. Stamped, wrapped, delivered of gift wrapper
Step 1: Draw a simple shape onto a piece of ordinary kitchen sponge. Using scissors or a cutter, cut out the shape. This will be your stamp.
Step 2: Spread some acrylic paint in a shallow bowl, and dip the sponge into the paint. Stamp designs onto brown paper, either randomly or in a grid pattern.
Step 3: Once dry, use your stamped paper as you would a store-bought gift wrapper.

6. Touchy feely greeting card
Share your holiday sentiments with a card that’ll touch your loved ones’ fingers as much as their hearts.
Materials:
• Corrugated card sheet
• Colored cardboard
• Red and white pipe cleaners
• Glue
• Scissors
Step 1: Score the middle of the backside of the corrugated card sheet. Flip over and fold.
Step 2: Twist the two pipe cleaners together to make a candy cane shape.
Step 3: Glue on a smaller piece of coordinating colored card onto the middle of the folded corrugated card sheet. Onto that, glue the pipe cleaner candy cane.

7. Frozen delight
Materials:
• Empty tin can
• Markers
• Strip of cardboard 1x7 inches
• Fabric scraps
• Glue
Step 1: Paint the tin can white and allow to dry completely. Draw on eyes, a nose, and a mouth.
Step 2: Glue on the strip of cardboard over the opening of the can. This will be the ear muff’s headband, and your container’s handle.
Step 3: Cut out two round pieces and one long straight piece of scrap fabric. This will be your snowman’s muffs and scarf. Glue one round piece on top of each end of the cardboard strip. Tie the scarf around the base of the can.

8. Glitter Tree
Even a branch picked up from the yard can bring the season’s cheer when sprinkled with sparkly dust.
Materials:
• Twig
• Glue
• Silver glitter
• Small flowerpot
• Cloth and yarn
• Small ornaments
Step 1: Brush on a solution of three parts glue to one part water onto the branch, then sprinkle glitter. Allow to dry completely, then tap off excess glitter onto a piece of newspaper or a paper plate.
Step 2: Wrap a small flowerpot with a piece of cloth and secure with a piece of yarn or ribbon. Hold the glittered branch in the center of the pot. Secure it in place with sand or glass marbles.
Step 3: Decorate the branches with ornaments.





10. High strung
Recyclables find new purpose in this straw and paper garland
Materials:
• Drinking straws
• Old Christmas cards
• Yarn or string
• Scissors
• Puncher
Step 1: Cut shapes out of old Christmas cards and scrap paper. Cut straws of various colors into different lengths.
Step 2: Punch holes through the centers of your cutouts.
Step 3: String cutouts and straws alternately until you have the length of garland you want.
