While growing up in Brunei, my parents used to buy my siblings and I books that had accompanying cassette tapes, and we would read the stories together while listening to the audio recordings. I still remember one of my most favorites – “The Little Red Hen” – because of the funny voices the storyteller would use, and the interesting way she narrated the story.

Now, as a mom myself, I am so grateful that the Internet has opened up so many ways for my kids and I to listen to stories being brought to life by wonderful storytellers – all for FREE!

One such site on the Internet is The Story Home (www.thestoryhome.com), which is among the recommended audio storybook sites aimed at keeping your preschooler entertained during long trips.
