The Monster At The End Of This Book
By Jon Stone and Michael Smollin

This book is not only one of my child’s favorites; it is also one of mine. It’s a truly hilarious and entertaining book that kept me and my daughter laughing out loud. We had such great pleasure reading it.
Grover is the star of the story. He learns that there will be a monster at the end of the book and tries to persuade you, the reader, to stop reading. If you don’t get to the end, the monster won’t appear. Grover pleads, begs and implores that you don’t turn a page. He builds brick walls and ties pages together to prevent you from getting to the end. Each attempt is a crazy one and will encourage the young readers to keep turning pages to find out what Grover’s next attempt will be. The twist at the end is that Grover is actually the monster at the end of the book!
The book is a fun read. Parents can take turns with their kids changing their voices and expressions as they participate by responding to Grover’s funny requests. Each read is a unique and engaging experience. Be prepared to read the story over and over as your little one will never get tired of this book.
Can’t get enough? There’s a sequel to this well-loved story. Another Monster at the End of This Book will not fail to delight both parents and readers but the original is still the more charming one.
