How Can Unemployed Pregnant Women Claim Their SSS and PhilHealth Benefits?

We turned to a senior HR specialist, Ms. Loida M. Pondevida to shed some light on the topic. Check out the FAQs below.

    1. Can unemployed pregnant women expect benefits from SSS and Philhealth?

Yes, she can expect benefits from SSS and Philhealth for as long as she’s an active contributing member of both agencies and has:

    At least three posted monthly contributions before the semester of her date of delivery (for SSS).
    At least 9 monthly contributions prior to availment (for Philhealth).

    2. How can unemployed pregnant women ensure that they have benefits under these government agencies?

a) To be able to claim both SSS and Philhealth benefits, they should check their membership status first whether active/non-active/non-member by requestinga Static Information Sheet from SSS and a Member Data Record/MDR from Philhealth. For those who have no ID yet, they should apply for an ID at any SSS and Philhealth office.

b) The benefit claim, together with the complete requirements, should be filed on time. Claiming period for SSS maternity benefit is within 10 years from date of delivery while claiming period for Philhealth benefit is within 60 calendar days upon hospital discharge. Important: In availing of the Philhealth benefit, members are advised to file claims immediately before payment of hospital bills so as to experience a significant discount from the hospital charges. Processing period for reimbursement of these benefits would take around 30 to 60 days.

    Question po!! Ung situation ko po mag file na po ako ng mat.2 ang problem po wala na po ung mat.1 ko kelangan daw po kasama un ano po gagawin ko. rn Tpos need ko pa po b mag pasign sa last employer ko naendo po ako ng oct.2008 sa kanila tpos nanganak po ako sa1stbaby ko ng july 2009 need ko po b talaga ung sign nila khit na voluntary na ko ngyn naghuhulog? rnrnPlsssssss.....answer

    Pwede po bang makapag file ng maternity benefits kung magfifile aq ngaun (Jan. 13, 2013) kung nanganak aq noong (Dec. 22, 2013) at ang huling hulog ko sa SSS ay Jan.2013.

    I'm unemployed right now and 9mons. Pregnant.I stopped my contributions when I worked abroad last march 2012 but I have 5years cotributions before when I still worked here in philippines.I did not continue my contributions when I got here last march 2013.Could I still avail maternity benefits?

    ask ko lang po ung maternity ko na na i file ko pa nung last August but until now wala pa rin po..even just text or call from the office of sss so that i know if there is a problem with my maternity that i applied..thanks po and i hope there will be a reply on this matter....

    paano po kung 2008-2011 nag work ako at naghuhulog sa sss then 2010 may nakuha po akong maternity benefits. 2011 nag resign po ako sa work until now wala pa po akong work and hindi ko pa rin po nahuhulugan yung sss ko since august 2011. now po buntis po ako may makukuha po kaya ako ulit na maternity benefits?

    Paano po kung yung last employr ko ayaw ako bgyan ng certificate of non cash receive at certificate of employment. Dahil ngfile ako ng labor case s kanya. 2006 po ako nanganak, 2007 po ako umalis dun. Anu po kya ammg pwde kng gwin para mkuha ko ung maternity benefits ko? Tnx po. Mary grace c. Abalos

    chaka anu po ibig sabihin ng pls submit speciemen signature card of authorized signatories...
    kasi nag file po ako ng maternity benefits ko,bali bumalik po ang requirements n pinasa ko sa bacoor branch ng sss?
