Tigdas-Hangin?!
« on: August 07, 2008, 11:18:43 AM »
Hello Fellow mOm's!

I just want to know if any of your lil ones has ever had tigdas-hangin?! Last Monday, My son had a fever and his temperature was at 38.1.. At first, i thought maybe because nag ngingipin na siya.. (he's 10months old now) plus the bad weather he had colds as well. So I just gave him paracetamol and lots of hugs from mommy... :) Two days after, medyo nag improve na yung condition niya, no more fever but still he has colds.. Come friday, rashes started showing on his belly, at first I thought again it was because I introduced a new food to him (chicken soup) and he might be allergic to it.. but i was still not satisfied with my own diagnosis so my husband and I decided to bring him to his pedia... His pedia said he has Tigdas-Hangin.. which is normal for babies to have, and it will last for about 3-5days. Now, wala na siya tigdas-hangin.. Medyo nakakapraning lang kasi di ba Tigdas is Measles .. and to think he has vaccination for it.. but its totally different pala from Tigdas-Hangin... Maybe this is the milder one..

Nwei, just sharing my experience.. Iba talaga if your a mommy na, I worry a lot for my son's health..  :)

Yung dalawang anak ko rin, they experienced having tigdas hangin. Iba pa rin sya sa measles. Yung bunso ko nga, after niya mabigyan ng vaccine for measles noon nagka tigdas hangin.

Yun nga lang sakin di sila nilagnat. :)

really? hindi ba tigdas hangin is measles and ang tigdas talaga ay german measles o mas kilala bilang rubella?

may son had an anti measles vaccine(tigdas hangin) last june. tapos yung MMR vaccine niya(Measles,Mumps,Rubella) naman this december. parang i'm confused na tuloy. ???

three weeks ago, my 9-month-old, jiro, had this. una lagnat din 38 pataas ang temp. paracetamol lang din binigay ko pero on-off ang fever. pag bumaba ang fever i give him warm bath pa nga kasi di sya makatulog pag di naliligo, nasanay na kasi. then after 2 days, na-observe ko tulo ng tulo ang laway, as in parang di na sya makalunok. tapos humina din ang pagdede niya at may konting rashes na sa legs na akala ko pa bulutong. my mom said baka may singaw, so i decided to bring him to his pedia na. ayun, tigdas na pala at sa loob unang lumabas, persistent sa tongue. nakasama pala yung pagligo ko sa kanya kasi hindi daw nakalabas ang rashes.
a week before that, jiro had his measles vaccine. a few days after, nagka sipon sya becuse of the weather. sabi ng pedia, since live vaccine ang measles, expected talaga na magka-tigdas within 2 weeks after mabakunahan si baby. lalo na nagkasipon after, so mahina resistance kaya nagka tigdas.

I instructed my mom na to bring her sa pedia. Do I need to be scare?..

As of kagabi kasi clueless pa rin ako bakit nilagnat nang ganoon yung anak since wala naman ubo't sipon at tsaka hindi naman dengue.  My daughter kasi is hindi naman lagnatin.  Yung sinasabi na may lagnat after bakuna, dehins niya pansin yun.  Since I gave birth to her parang 5x pa lang sya sininat because of sipon or tonsilitis, pero never tlagang high-fever yung last week lang...at least ngaun nasagot na yung tanong ko kung bakit sya nilagnat dahil nga magkaka measles sya.  Kasi yung isang pinsan ko na mag iisang taon pa lang nun nilagnat din for 2 days then after 3 days naglabasan yung measles... ganun ba talaga?

Thanks mga mommies.

my baby had it twice before ng MMR vaccine niya. di siya delikado pero her pedia still gave her anti-biotic para makasiguro.

mga mommies! i need help din! yung baby ko kasi since nung tuesday nilalagnat with cough. tapus nung madaling araw (tues), umabot ng 39.5 yung fever so tawag kaagad ako sa pedia(takot me baka combulsion). the next day, dala ko siya sa pedia and baka "tigdas hangin" nga daw. have to wait after 3 days of fever, pagnawala, tsaka lalabas yung mga rashes. pero so far pang 4th day na ngayn, bumaba yung fever niya last night pero tumaas ulit this morning. wala naman me nakitang rashes. ang problm ko ngayn since nagstart ang fever niya, pahina na ng pahina yung pagdede niya. halos ayaw na magdede. tapus since may ubo (na parang grumabe since sunday) minsan sinusuka niya yung milk na dede niya. may cough din ba yung mga babies nyo before nung nagkatigdas hangin?? any advise? help!!

^ hi sis!  tigdas hangin is not measles.  it's roseola.  my baby javi had it last month.  i was real worried about it since he never got sick until last month when he was nine months old.  he had cough and colds so the usual remedy was to give him more fluids.  after a few days, he had fever na, ranging between 38 to 39. i told my sis about it and she said that's already high since standard for babies is until 37.5.  what i did was i gave him paracetamol and kool fever.  the fever would go down for a while but when it was nearly time for him to take the paracetamol after 3 to 4 hours, it would increase again.  sobrang kakapraning kasi the fever would just be between 38 and 39.  even giving him sponge baths didn't help.  i asked our doctor friend about it and the suggestion was to see my baby's pedia.  nothing to worry naman daw since he wasn't vomitting or he didn't have diarrhea.  unluckily for me, the pedia wouldn't have clinic that afternoon.  so i rushed him to medical city.  before we even got to the hospital, his fever reached the 40 mark na.  by the time we reached the er, it was a little over 40 na.  kakapraning!  he was given paracetamol and sponge bath also.  his fever decreased to a little over 38.  the doctors were not alarmed naman coz there were no other symptoms.  i thought baka bronchitis since tagal na nung cough and colds niya.  no naman daw kasi ang lakas ng lungs niya.  after a while, they got sample of his urine for urinalysis.  we waited for an hour for the results only to be sent home because nothing was wrong with him.  i was advised to give him paracetamol only when his fever reached 37.8 na.  i was still worried kasi tataas bababa yung fever but hindi talaga nawawala.  on the third day, medyo nawala ang fever.  i noticed rashes on his neck naman.  that got me worried again.  he never got rashes, not even diaper rashes.  so i checked out my baby book and checked out the symptoms.  i came across roseola, chicken pox and german measles.  when i told my sis about it, she mentioned it was probably roseola coz my niece also had one when she was younger.  i called the pedia and we concluded it was roseola nga even without seeing the baby.  all the symptoms were there - 3 days high fever then the rashes will be out after the 3rd day.  he said that it will continue for another 3 days but not to worry about it.  it's a common illness among babies all around the world daw.  true enough the rashes were gone after 3 days.

don't worry about it sis.  javi has colds again.  he hasn't been eating solids since tuesday night.  the mere sight of his plate disgusts him.  i've been giving him liquids lang talaga - milk, juice, water.  sobra syang walang gana.  his pedia said to let him be.  his throat is probably sore that he can't take solid foods.  just increase his fluid intake.  hope your baby gets well soon.

the best you can do is bring him to his pedia or the er.  with the er kasi, they can do urnalysis or blood test {if the latter is needed} right away.  sa ganon, makampante ka na.  you'll know agad why the fever is not going down and you'll be able to rule out all other possibilities.  if i were you, i'll bring him to his pedia or the er na.  can't wait for tomorrow anymore.  kakapraning kasi ganyan eh.

hi mommy J! punta kami yesterday sa pedia niya. advise is to observe til later kung may fever pa din. kung talagang meron pa, may binigay na siya letter for blood test. so far, since pahilot kami kanina. medyo gumanda ng konti yung pakiramdam niya. nag-dede na ng konti and nag-eat na siya.. have to wait lang yung next temp niya mga 2pm kung meron ulit kasi kanina 10am, wala ulit pero nung 6am, meron...hhaaayyy!!! kakaloka!!

my jiro started having fever last tuesday and may konting rashes na i thought mosquito bites lang. nagkatigdas na kasi sya months ago so hindi ko ineexpect na magkakaron pa sya ulit. i called up his pedia and i asked kung possible ba na umulit ang tigdas. she said, iba-iba daw kasi yun, may tigdas hangin, baby measles, german measles at iba pa din daw yung totoong measles. my hubby brought him to the pedia the next day, ayun tigdas nga daw pero viral lang, yun ata yung tigdas hangin na hinahayaan lang na lumabas at lumipas ang rashes. binigyan lang sya gamot na anti-kati. til now, persistent pa din rashes niya sa arms at sa face pero thankfully, wala nang fever. sana nga before i go back to work on monday magaling na baby ko,  :'( hirap iwan ng anak pag may sakit eh.

Tigdas Hangin
« Reply #14 on: March 04, 2009, 12:38:19 PM »
my baby started having a fever on Thursday night at tumataas pa ang temperature niya nung gabi but wala siyang colds and coughs,   we went immediately to her pedia on friday morning and was given an antibiotic and we are told na bumalik sa monday, binigyan din sya ng paracetamol for her fever. I was really worried dahil nag 39 na ang temperature niya, takot ako sa convulsion dahil when i was a little child every time na nilalagnat ako ay talagang nag ka ka convulsion ako, kaya sponge bath lang kami at kool fever. After three days wala na yung lagnat niya but rashes came out, my office-mates told me na baka na dengue daw si baby. So, i am a very worried pero ang sabi ko naman hindi na sya nilalagnat and her pedia already gave her chickenfox vaccine on monday. He also see the rashes on her face and told me na lagyan lang daw ng curash powder. But still i was a worried dahil ang dami na nga ng rashes niya sa tiyan at sa likod, i suspect na meron siyang tigdas hangin kasi i remember na ganon ang itsura non when i have my own too. kaya ng nabasa ko ang thread natin dito sa smart parenting, i conclude na tama nga siguro ang naisip ko, talagang napakalaking tulong ang meron ganitong outlet dahil maraming point of views at own experience that other mommies share...

thank you very much moms for enlightening me... sana gumaling narin si baby.
