I gave my eldest s26 when he was a baby until nag-promil kami then lumabas ang Bonakid so we shifted to it because halos the same ang taste nila - sweet and my eldest doesn't like other milk, wala raw lasa.

With my 2 other younger kids, Bonna sila from the start and my 2nd child is super taba. As in hebigatin talaga - I didn't know mataas ang sugar content ng Bonna until I saw some posts here. I think I have to have his blood sugar checked because he is really mataba. His kuya is 7 and he is only.

Enfa grow has the highst carbo, next ang lactum then un progress gold/bonakid na. Pag maatas blood sugar niya makikita mo naman pag marami syang rashes tapos pag nagsugat hinde gumagaling. pero para maprevent nga better have it checked.

We're also planning to change the milk of our baby daughter minsan kase talaga kinakapos kami. Gusto ko talaga yung gain kase sobrang sik2 ng baby ko as in if you look at her tamang-tama lang yung built and height niya pero pagbinuhat mo ang bigat and super active. Ilang beses na namin pinagdiskusyunan yun ng husband ko, i proposed na baka pwede na palitan yung milk ni baby since 1 yr & 2 mos. na siya and naririnig ko rin sa mga office mates ko na nagchange na rin sila ng milk from expensive to cheaper one. Most of our friends shifted to Nido Jr., so if ever na magpapalit kami yun  siguro ittry namin, nice to know from sis momaye na 2nd to gain in having a lower content of carbo is Nido Jr. Pero yun nga still need to advise and consult with our pedia...para mas kampante kami if ever na magchange kami ng milk.

Our Joy..

true yan mommy! yan din discussion namin ng husband ko. pero 17 months na baby namin and he almost eat naman all the food we give him. kahapon nga i am comparing all the milk available in the market for 1-3 years old and i found out pasok na pasok pala ang nido jr sa RDA for children 1-3. kaya naman nagdadalawang isip ako if i will choose Nido Jr. over Grow 1-3. nased kasi sa comparison ko mas mura un Nido Jr and hinde din naman papahuli sa nutrients. but then again, since january next year pa un sched doctor visit ng anak ko dun ko na lang tatanungin. for the mean time will stick with Gain at Grow mixture.

so far oki naman sya sa ginagawa naming mixing ng Gain and Grow. tama abbott din sya, medyo magkaiba lang silang texture. sana nga maging hiyang sya sa pure na Grow. but we will ask his pedia first before we completely shift. mahal na kasi Gain di ba. 200+ minahal, although may nakilala akong pwedeng kunan ng less than 100.

Like yung issue on carbohydrates and sugar, nagvavary talaga ang amount of sugar ng bawat milk brand pero di naman sila nagkakalayo diba? Ang difference lang pagdating sa sugar content is from 2-10g lang and from my experience, (Lactum mom kasi ako) mas masarap usually yung milk na mas lamang ng konti sa sugar. I talked to my pedia and friend who's a nutritionist and sabi nila na the amount of sugar nga daw isn't that much na nakakasama na siya. In fact, yung kakaunting dagdag na sugar is what makes the milk taste better and that's what made my kid want to drink his milk and actually develop an appetite for solids. Of course depende naman sa bata yun pero don't really fuss over the nitty-gritty of the milk's ingredients or nutritions facts. If you ask me, they wouldn't allow it to be sold in the market if it was bad for our kids :)

yes you have a point mommy. I really do not know why even if i know that leading milk brands passed RDA, hinde ko mabitawan ang GAIN. Im worrying kasi baka may magbago sa anak ko. that is why i will ask pa din his pedia before i completely switch him to the leading brand na obviously mas mura. kahit naman mahal ang milk kundi hiyang ng baby wala din. but how can we know kung magiging hiyang sa mas murang milk si baby kundi ittry di ba? un lang para sa peace of mind ko, ill ask his pedia first. im a worrier mom when it comes to my son kasi.  :)

The same principle applies with shopping for food, milk and other items our kids need - it is good advice not to scrimp. This does not mean, however, that one should buy the most expensive brand in the market. The trick is to research and educate yourself. Know when it is good to cut back and when it isnít. Sometimes what may seem like a good buy at the start isnít in the long run or, vice versa.

I don't think there's much difference between expensive milk and affordable milk.

My brother-in-law works in Mead Johnson, and he told me na ang diff lang is pinapatakan nila ng DFA or some sort of vitamins yung A+ kaya mas mahal. Pero more or less, same formulation lang naman. In my own opinion, di naman tatalino or magiging mas healthy ang baby based from extra minerals / ingredients ng milk alone.

Just my two cents lang. ;)

IMO as a pharmacist, wala po difference ang mahal na gatas at murang gatas... Parepareho lang po na cow's milk yan, it is actually a trade secrets from milk manufacturers na may mga formula kuno na pampatalino etc etc pero they are all the same, they just needed to market their product very well... Check nyo un labels, almost the same, varies lang on some formulations but if you will check it carefully may variations man it still compensates with the nutritional value na approved ng bfad..

I used to supervise and ka's milk formulas in different milk companies and i assure you all na parepareho lang po :)

just a reminder mga sis, before you switch from one milk to another, please consult your pedia first. It's important that you don't do this often also

I agree with you sis just_memom.... Dapat talaga you have to consult your pedia especially kung may specific milk na dapat ipainom kay baby or for special conditions.....  With my case kasi, im a pharmacist and with experience on milk formulation in different milk companies so i took the responsibility :)
