sharing my son's 1st birthday cake & cupcakes last Nov. 6 by Iko's Bakeshop:
2-layer choco moist cake covered with marshmallow icing, 12" and 8" in size. name and decors made of gum paste as well as the 2D baby superman topper.
100 pcs. cupcakes, all in choco moist flavor topped with marshmallow icing, with edible justice league toppers.
the cake & cupcakes were really moist and yummy, so addicting! all of our guests loved it. since ka-tie up ng Shakey's ang Iko's we didn't have any problem regarding the delivery of the cake & cupcakes, they were ahead of time. we didn't encountered any major issues with this supplier. right from the start of our dealings, we transacted directly to them specifically to Ms. Bless, at their main shop in Pasig (although we were from QC pa) to avoid the hassle of wrong info's sa dami ng kausap. they're very accomodating and friendly.
perharps the only issues we had with them, although minor lang naman, was when i had to repeatedly email them of my preferred cake design & instructions. they confirmed receipt of my email but nagkaka error sa opening ng file, some data won't appear as it should be, maybe because of the program version used, sabi nila mababang version daw yung naka install sa computer nila baka kaya di madisplay ng tama yung file, eh hello word file lang po un, kaya to cut it short, we went there na lang ulit to personally submit the design kesa magka problema pa.
another thing was that hindi nila nilagay yung figurine topper na provided namin sa cake, a Shakey's staff approached me and handed me the figurines before the party, di raw nilagay ng Iko's on top of the bottom layer ng cake dahil baka matumba during the transportation/delivery process & masira yung cake, kaya kami na lang daw maglagay. although valid naman yung reason nila, i'm just wondering how come other bakeshops can fully deliver a cake complete with figurine toppers. eh kung yung topper nga na si baby superman na pagkalaki ay nagawa nilang isecure ng mabuti, bakit kaya di nila nagawa dun sa maliit lang na figurine. moreso, kami pa talaga ang pinaglalagay nila nung topper sa cake eh malay ba namin dun db, so sa takot ko na baka masira ko lang yung cake pag ininsist ko pang ilagay, i just decided na itayo na lang sila sa side nung cake as shown in the picture above.
yun lang naman mga sis, overall, satisfied and happy pa rin naman kami sa naging service nila. di talaga maiiwasan ang mga minor glitches sa parties kaya dapat ready tayo lagi. what's important to us was nadeliver on time yung cake & cupcakes, nagandahan and nasarapan ang mga guests dito.
as in naubos yung cupcakes, ang bilis lang talaga right after iannounce ng host that guests are free to get their cupcakes, nagulat na lang ko pagtingin ko wala ng laman yung tower, buti na lang alert ang mommy ko, nagawa nyang isecure yung 2 boxes (24pcs) pa ng cupcakes na hindi na naidisplay sa table due to lack of space na rin, kaya meron pa kaming naiuwi pambigay sa iba & para sa amin. after the party, i realized ang hirap pala umubos ng cake & cupcakes, pero ok lang yummy naman! hahaha!
