It's a good time to have a baby! There are so many baby products that have cropped up recently, from teethers to diaper bags and disposable changing pads. Here are a few that caught our eye:
1. Nuby NanaNubs Massager
Nuby NanaNubs Massager (P429.75), available at Baby Company stores (find a list of branches here)
This caught our eye because it's so adorable! The Nuby NanaNubs Massager is a teether that's shaped like a banana. It has soft bristles at one end to provide relief from aching gums. It's 100% silicone as well and has an easy-grip design (thanks to the hands-on-your-hips banana peels). Cute!
Just recently, online store Domesticity added a new item to their infant collection: the Classic Canvas Diaper Bag. It's stylish and roomy -- you'll want it as a gift for yourself or your mom BFF. The bag has garterized interior pockets and four additional pockets on the outside. It can be carried messenger-style with an adjustable leather strap or shoulder-bag style with the canvas handles. Bonus, you can even have it personalized with a leather name label. Domesticity, a venture of the Gawad Kalinga Community Development Foundation, carries home products -- from storage to bath to dining -- that serve as chic home decor as well.
3. Sanicare Baby Underpads
Sanicare Baby Underpads (P110 for a pack of 8 at Babymama.ph), available in groceries and supermarkets and online at Babymama.ph
A diaper bag can only hold so much and sometimes a rubber changing pad can be too cumbersome to bring. They never fold quite right for one. We've recently found that disposable changing pads can be convenient especially when you're traveling and packing light.
Sanicare Baby Underpads have a soft top most layer, absorbent layers in between, and a plastic backing underneath to keep leaks at bay. Stash one in your baby's diaper bag and see how you like it as well.
Merries diapers, available at Rustan's Makati, Rockwell, Shangri-La, and Shopwise Festival Alabang and Sucat
If you've tried every diaper brand in your local grocery store and have yet to find one that your baby's bum agrees with, try this new Japanese brand that's now available locally.
Merries, a leading diaper brand in Japan, has a triple layer air-through system that should keep baby's skin dry and comfy, and prevent rashes. They also have a soft poo leak guard, color changing wetness indicators and a soft reusable seal. Merries diapers come in tape-type (in newborn to large sizes) and pants-type (in medium to extra large sizes).

5. Poco Baby Salve Balm
Poco Baby Salve Balm (P420) and Calmryl Cleaner (P800), available at Pocoscents.shop
If you're familiar with local brand Poco Scents, you'll be happy to learn that they now also have a line of baby products called Poco Baby -- Poco Baby Calmryl Cleanser and the Poco Baby Salve Balm. Both are made with hypoallergenic ingredients and are paraben- and petroleum-free. We have a can of the salve balm, and it smells heavenly. The balm's formula is all-natural and relieves itches, burns, headaches and nausea.
6. Biolane Arnica Gel
Biolane Arnica Gel (P480 for a pack of 12), available at Milkandhoney.ph, the Parenting Emporium in Quezon City, and mall stalls including SM Megamall (see where else here)
Here's something different. The Biolane Arnica Gel is first-aid for bumps and bruises. Because it is packaged in hermetic film as a single-dose format, you don't have to think how much gel you need for a wound. Each dose should deliver the right quantity for use on a painful area. Its concentrated formula made with the natural extracts of Arnica and calendula. A French brand, Biolane products are specially formulated to be safe for use on a baby's sensitive skin. The Arnica Gel is suitable for those over a year old.
Little Tree Baby Wipes (P129 for a pack of 25 wipes; P259 for a pack of 80 wipes), available online at Babyzone.ph
Isn't the packaging so cute? Little Tree Baby Wipes promise to be thick, strong and ultra-soft. Plus, they're also free of alcohol, chlorine, paraben, phenol, and sulfates. Non-toxic! Just how we like it. The Baby's Bottom variety also has embossed dots to help mom with the clean up.
8. Aveeno Baby Cleansing Therapy Wash
Aveeno Baby Cleansing Therapy Wash (P499), Aveeno products are available at Robinsons Supermarket and department Stores, Watsons, Mercury Drug stores, and more (find a full list here)
The Aveeno Baby Cleansing Therapy Moisturizing Wash boasts the seal of acceptance from the National Eczema Association of the U.S. It's ultra-gentle and formulated to soften and soothe irritated, extra-dry skin while gently cleansing your little one. It's also fragrance-, dye-, and alcohol-free.
9. Cerelac NutriPuffs
Cerelac Nutripuffs (P223 for a pack of 3 at Lazada.com.ph), available at groceries and supermarkets, and online at Lazada.com.ph, Nestle's online store partner
If you're traveling, try Cerelac Nutripuffs, which recommended for babies 10 months and above and comes in two flavors -- banana and strawberry, and banana and orange.
We've tasted the Cerelac NutriPuffs ourselves, and we like that it's not too sweet. It's great that the pack is resealable too. (Note: Consume these within two weeks after opening, as said on the label. When snacks like this lose their original texture, they must not be given to babies. Learn from one dad's story here.)
This story has been updated to show that the Nuby NanaNubs Massager is exclusively available at Baby Company stores at the printed price. The previous version of the article stated that the product was offered in Youji&Me stores at a discounted price.
