Choosing the right essentials for your baby can be a bit overwhelming. Just step into the baby section of any store, and the options seem endless. Take skin care, for example. How do you choose one that is right for your baby?

We always say the best person to ask is your child's pediatrician or dermatologist. He knows your toddler's skin better than anyone. The second thing we recommend is read the label -- you have to get to know the ingredients well.
And, finally, the best person to ask when it comes to choosing baby products is the moms because you can expect unfiltered honesty. So that's what we did with Belo Baby.
At our workshops, Belo Baby had become one of our most coveted prizes. We wanted to know why moms loved it, so we randomly selected past winners from our past workshops and invited them for merienda. Joining them was one mom we met after we did this story on a Belo Baby video on Facebook, and two moms whom we personally knew were Belo Baby users.
We had no prior knowledge of what they thought about Belo Baby. When we got in touch with them, we said we just wanted honest feedback about the Belo Baby products they used.
It was an eye-opener. Before we even got to Belo Baby, the moms shared their criteria when it came to shopping for their children's skin care products. For this batch of moms, at least, they all agreed on the following:
1. Doctor's approval is vital from newborn to 6 months. All the moms followed their pediatrician's recommendation especially for those whose babies had sensitive skin. But once the baby turned one year old, the moms started trying other baby products, primarily because of cost.
2. The moms switched brands after they tried the product on themselves. Even if the product already says "all-natural or "dermatologist-tested," the moms would still test the products on their skin before they make their children use it, just to be on the safe side. “I use it one or two weeks before ko ipagamit sa kanila,” says Rochelle Velez, who has a 4-year-old son and a daughter who is 11 months. And they even ended up using the baby products for themselves.
3. These moms never go shopping unprepared. At least when it came to the products their child uses. Before they hit the stores, they already know what to buy—they've done their research online and finished crowd-sourcing for opinions, whether on social media or chat groups.
That's why we rarely get confused with the various baby products that are out on the market, says Hannah Diaz, whose daughter is 5 years old. They already know what their options are and what brands they prefer.
When it comes to Belo Baby products, the Face and Body Lotion, Hair and Body Wash, Bar Soap, and Talc-Free Powder, are the moms’ favorites. Here’s what they have to say about the products:
Face and Body Lotion
“Mas ok siya kaysa dati ko. ‘Pag sa ibang lotion, kapag pinawisan [yung bata], nagiging greasy [ang pakiramdam]. Sa [Belo Baby Face and Body Lotion], hindi. Kahit pawisan ka sa labas, hindi siya sticky.” -Hannah
“Kapag nag-wash ka madali lang siya tanggalin, unlike ng iba na kailangan sabunin ng maigi para mawala.” -Michiel Lumabi, mom of a 5-year-old girl
Bar Soap “I actually used it on myself first. I have really dry skin, but when I used the soap, hindi na nag-dry ang skin ko. My daughter also uses it, and she likes it.” -Vicenta Rada, mom of a 5-year-old girl
“My firstborn uses the bar soap. I feel secure because the products are 100% natural, and they’re readily available in the supermarket!” -Rizalyn Giron, mom of a 7-year-old daughter and a 10-month-old son
Hair and Body Wash “I like that it’s very gentle on my son’s skin making it smooth, plus his hair becomes so soft!" -Rizalyn
Talc-Free Powder “My baby is super pawisin and prone to rashes. I used an anti-rash powder before, but he still gets rashes. Pero with Belo, nawala na.” -Lorena Arce, mom of a 1-year-old boy
