• Most of the time, kids are just imitating what they hear from older kids or other grown-ups. And when the grown-ups overreact, kids start uttering bad words to shock them. Explain to your son that such expletives are not allowed in your family. Dad or Mom may slip at times, but it does not make it acceptable. Decide and agree on a consequence for both him and other adults in the house if any more bad words are heard.
