• This Made Our Day: This 11-Year-Old Girl Taught Herself How to Dance Dubstep

And to think she's learned it all from watching Youtube videos!

  • Video from Fusion/Youtube

You don't hear a lot of 11-year-old kids use Youtube as their coach or tutor. But it's what Adilyn Malcolm has done. She told Fusion in a video interview that she stumbled upon dubstep (a genre of electronic dance music) on Youtube eight months ago while researching for a project about Michael Jackson. The talented little girl was instantly hooked.

With a grin, Adilyn said she has probably watched millions of videos of performers dancing to dubstep or breakdancing. She would pause, rewind and replay the videos until she finally learned how to do the moves herself.

While we don't pretend to know anything about dubstep dancing we were captivated by her performance. The fact that she taught herself these moves just by watching videos on the Internet amazed us. The rest of the world was impressed as well. Her video was uploaded to Youtube and has now been watched by over 1.3 million times. Some of those might be little girls too looking to learn dubstep.

Adilyn has this to say for those looking to pick up a new skill: "Honestly, because I learned this whole thing from the Internet and the Internet is my generation's tool to learning these things, I think I can show people that you can do anything if you really have a passion for it."
