Her Business Idea: Earth and Me sells products with all-natural, 100% organic ingredients. We have many product categories such as hair and body care, pregnancy and postpartum, remedies and home care. Although Earth and Me is based in Iloilo, the products are sold online and through our various re-sellers, who are also moms and fans of our products.
How it all started: My youngest child had skin asthma and I didn’t like the idea of using store-bought, chemical-filled products on him. This led me to do research and create two products – the mosquito repellent and the boo boo cream (used for rashes and insect bites). I sold these to friends who requested me to make more products. The demand was quite overwhelming so I knew that I had a great opportunity to turn this into a real business.
I set up an area in the excess space of my husband’s manufacturing plant to make my products. I hired an aromatherapist to help me learn how to mix essential oils. The products I create are based on what moms need and look for. My family helps me test the products before we launch them to ensure that they are effective and safe.
My husband’s aunt works for Earth and Me. She travelled to various parts of the country to talk about our products. Earth and Me held seminars and product demos, joined bazaars and expos. We were even invited to be part of a radio show interview. Through all of these, we found moms all over the country who expressed interest in re-selling Earth and Me products. We are actually still looking for re-sellers who are organic enthusiasts.
