Involve them every step of the way—including labor, if possible. Make sure they know they will not just be diaper-changers or babysitters. The closer the relationship that is fostered early on, the closer the siblings will be despite the age difference. The generation gap will probably create more of an uncertainty at first for the older ones; let them be as much as part of the whole experience as possible.
