• Baby Bag Checklist

    Most big hospitals provide a “baby bag” in the nursery. Call the hospital to find out what items they will provide.

    Below is a list of your baby must-haves that you need to pack in your baby bag for the hospital:

    2 to 3 pieces of the following:
    • Receiving blankets
    • Pairs of mittens
    • Side-snap tees
    • Baby bonnets or caps
    • Onesies (long-sleeved one-piece pajamas)
    • Bibs and washcloths
    • Pairs of baby snaps or diaper pins (if using cloth diapers)
    Plus:
    • A dozen cloth diapers
    • A bag of infant disposable diapers
    • Baby wipes
    • 2 Towels
    • Baby oil
    • Infant nail clippers
    If you’re rooming-in at the hospital, pack these too:
    • 5 tie-side shirts (short-sleeve)
    • 3 tie-side shirts (long sleeve)
    • 3 one-piece sleepers (use one for baby’s going-home outfit)
    • 3 pairs of booties
    • 2 bonnets
    • 1 flannel blanket
    • 2 infant feeding bottles
    • 1 car seat (for going home)
