• Going into labor is a nerve-racking experience. You're wheeled into the labor room and a long waiting game begins. You try to keep up with the medical staff all trying to insert an IV, do an IE (internal exam), etc. And then of course, there's the pain -- excruciating pain -- that you don't know what to do with. Anyone who's going into it the first time is sure to be terrified.

But Katie Stricker Curtis, a 32-year-old pregnant woman from Ontario, knew she would not allow herself to give birth to her first child in fear. So, armed with courage and a Star Wars Chewbacca mask, she went to deliver her daughter Jayden Lee at the Windsor Regional Hospital, reports Today. "Just because I'm about to be a mom doesn't mean I have to grow up! Bwahahahahs never take life too seriously! Best Christmas gift ever! #havingababy #pregnancyhairgrowth", she captioned the video which she posted on her Facebook page. It's been viewed over 476,000 times to date.

    Watch the hilarious clip below:

Katie says in the same interview that she got the mask from her brother as a Christmas joke, and she thought it would be funny to wear it during labor.

In the middle of contractions come D-day, her husband Scott shot the 12-second clip and shared it with Katie's sibling. They didn't think it would be a big deal when they posted it on Facebook, until a friend asked if she could share it.

“I hope I never lose my sense of humor,” Katie was quoted as saying. “It’s one of my best qualities.”
