Did you know that in as little as one hour, you can already do wonders for your body?
Especially if you’re one busy mom or dad. After a tiring week at the office, or an activity-packed weekend with the kids, you will at times feel that you’re entitled to a little R&R, no matter how indulgent it may seem.
While I don’t have kids yet, even the stresses of everyday work and other obligations do take their toll on my mind and body. I personally make it a point to seek the help of a trusty masseuse whenever I feel the all-too-familiar back pain once again. It happens maybe once or twice each month to my dismay because I have scoliosis.
Some time ago, I was excited to have been given the opportunity to try out one of the massage services from The Spa, and I chose what I felt was unique and worth experiencing from their list: the Honey Body Polish.
As the name of the service implies, honey is used all over the body to leave your skin feeling silky soft, moisturized and with that natural-looking glow. I visited The Spa’s branch at Bonifacio Global City, eager to find out just what it would feel like to have the luxurious-sounding treatment.
The service is given in one of their suites or villas, air-conditioned rooms that come with a vanity set, toiletries, bathrobe, slippers, two beds, steam bath, sauna, shower and a Jacuzzi.
After you slip into a robe, the treatment starts with something that might initially feel uncomfortable—the therapist rubs sea salt lavishly onto your whole body—but then you feel cool all over afterwards. Don’t worry, you can ask the therapist to adjust the level of pressure applied. The process rids your body of dead skin to reveal the more youthful-looking skin underneath.
