Mom and daughters twinning is a cute way to strut your fashion style as a mom. But what happens if your child wants to wear a Disney princess costume to the park? It's quite difficult to find a matching dress without looking like you're going to a Halloween or costume party. That can all change now that Disney just opened its first grown-up dress shop.
Located in Disney Springs inside Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, The Dress Shop on Cherry Lane offers a variety of classic dress styles with a modern fit that's perfect for women. According to the Disney Parks Blog, the dress shop has been in development for over a year.
Fans of Disney Parks will love the retro, whimsical fashion line. "We designed The Dress Shop collection for guests who want to emulate their favorite Disney characters or theme park attractions in a fun, retro way," explained merchandiser Donna Sorrow in Disney Parks Blog. "These items aren’t costumes, rather the collection contains perfect outfits for guests who have a passion for Disney style," she added.
Steven Miller, merchandise communication manager of Disney Parks, says Disney attractions such as the Enchanted Tiki Room, 'It’s a Small World,' The Haunted Mansion, and the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror inspired the dresses. Of course, some pieces are nods to classic Disney characters and stories including Minnie Mouse (of course!), Snow White, and Alice from Walt Disney’s "Alice in Wonderland."
What makes this fashion collection a joy is that it even carries Disney-fied accessories and handbags. There are hair accessories that perfectly emulate Mini Mouse’s style, and handbag fashion to look like the apple from Snow White and the Seven Dwarves and the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland. Look!
