Hi-Tech Educational Baby Toys: V.Smile Baby Infant Development SystemThis educational toy can help baby learn baby sign language. Mom and dad will benefit from it too.by Jazer Basan .
Below is a unique and innovative educational baby toy available in the market today. I selected it for its benefits, originality and value. The price of this toy could be considered an "investment" since the item can be used for years.
V.Smile Baby Infant Development System
Among the different high tech educational toys in the market, so far, V.Smile Baby is the most impressive innovative toy one I’ve found. It starts as an activity panel with big colorful and shaped buttons that can be played alone. Its play-alone feature teaches about colors, shapes and plays melodies, enough to keep a baby entertained and stimulated. However, you can actually hook up the panel to a TV so the baby can learn visually. The panel is wirelessly connected to a console which transmits images to the TV. Watch the baby giggle and react as his visual and auditory learning goes full blast. The package comes with a cartridge that is inserted to the console slot.
Learn Baby Sign Language
Hooking it up on TV maximizes the toy's feature with the use of the enclosed learn and play cartridge. Cute animals guide the baby in learning about colors, numbers, animals and music. What I like about it is the introduction to baby sign language that can teach even the parent.
Different V.Smile Baby smartridges are sold separately. There are themes like Winnie the Pooh, Baby Einstien and V.Smile's own Farm and Noah's Animal Adventure. These cartridges however, aren't available in all local toy stores.
Needs Grown-up Guidance
There's a concern about the baby getting exposed early or too much to TV. Not with this toy which I actually consider PG rated. Baby needs a grown-up's guidance whenever it's connected to the TV, especially when learning about the baby sign language for the baby to completely absorb the educational benefits the system offers. Every program needs a parent's participation and interaction to guide the baby on what he sees and hears like "where's the heart?" "the star is color yellow, the bunny is also color yellow", "very good baby!” Otherwise, it's all just moving objects with sounds on the screen and baby can quickly lose interest.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
No toy can replace a loving parent's guidance. Child experts always remind us that human interaction is the best ingredient to a child's development. That fact plus a little aid from modern toys will get baby the best of both worlds.
The V.Smile console runs on four AA batteries and needs an adaptor. The activity panel runs on three AA batteries. The use of rechargeable batteries is not recommended. A low-batt icon appears on the TV screen when the battery is low. All VTech toys are warranty covered for 2 weeks. VTech is distributed by Richwell Marketing and has a service center for warranty covered (non-warranty covered are serviced with charges) at Quezon Ave, QC. At P4,000.00 in major toy stores, V.Smile Baby can grow with the child from 6 months to 3 years until he's ready for the next level of the Vtech learning series.
