  • Vicki Belo And Scarlet Snow Put Up Christmas Tree Using Last Year's Decorations!

Because pandemic or not, everybody wishes for a Merry Christmas.

  • It’s just a week to go before Christmas, and by this time, a Christmas tree is already up in many places. These include the homes of celebrities, who make it a point to keep this family tradition alive. After all, the Yuletide is still the most wonderful time of the year, pandemic or not.

    Christmas at the Belo-Kho household

For the first time since Vicki Belo has taken it upon herself to “set up the most colorful and unique Christmas tree” for the sake of her and her husband Hayden Kho Jr.’s daughter Scarlet Snow, the famed beauty doctor is having a repeat of an old theme.

This year, Vicki explained in her vlog, she had to improvise using the stuff they had last year. That’s because the company that usually does her Christmas tree setup, the U.S-based Glitterville Studio (Oprah Winfrey uses them, too), couldn’t make it. She just added a few items, such as colorful animals that her 5-year-old girl loves.

“Every year, it’s been tradition since Scarlet was born to have a beautiful Christmas tree,” Vicki said, and enumerated some of the trimmings she’ll be using. “We have here a llama, donkeys, the hippo — our favorite. Almost everything here is made in the Philippines, and it’s exported abroad.”

Aside from animals, real and mythical, like the unicorn, there are decorative fruits (banana, orange, watermelon, avocado) and even a girl used as trimmings. All of those spruced up the white Christmas tree base. The result is a fantastic mélange of shapes, colors, and texture.

    Christmas with Team Kramer

The Kramer family — dad Doug, mom Chesca, and kids Kendra, Scarlett, and Gavin — has a huge Christmas tree befitting their spacious suburban residence with 12-foot ceiling.

“Decorating this tree is a team effort,” Doug said in their YouTube channel, adding everybody in their household took part in it. He complimented his wife for the decoration’s theme, telling her, “Honey, good job with the theme, super liked it.”

Chesca explained that the theme in sprucing up their tree revolves around gold and white, plus red boughs as additional trimmings. She then quipped, “Wala lang, gusto ko lang.”

For the final touch, each family member put their respective Christmas sock on their festive tree.

In closing that episode of their vlog, Doug declared, “Our Christmas wish is for a lot of Filipinos, who were affected by this pandemic, the typhoon, by Taal, all of these things, that they will have a Merry Christmas no matter what.”

    Christmas with Melason

Melai Cantiveros and her husband Jason Francisco had their two young daughters Mela and Stela as adorable little helpers in putting up their yellow Christmas tree. Yellow is Stela’s favorite color, that’s why. But there are lots of purple trimmings because that’s Mela’s favored hued.

Mela, who apparently inherited her mom's candor and chattiness as an actress and TV host, announced in their vlog that she’s excited for the coming Christmas.

“Kasi malapit na ang birthday ni Papa Jesus,” she explained. “Guys, I’m so very happy na i-decorate namin ang Christmas tree. Hindi pa ako nakapag-decorate ng Christmas tree.”

    Christmas at the Villarroel-Legaspi household

Carmina Villarroel didn’t just put up a Christmas tree in the house that she shares with her husband Zoren Legaspi and their grownup twin kids Mavy and Cassy to get the holiday mood going. She actually spruced up the whole place with Christmas decors, from the front door to the living space, dining area, and powder room.

The actress admitted in her YouTube channel that she’s quite partial to the snowman, and she has loads of it used as decors and trimmings. She has a simple answer to her choice: “Cute siya. You feel happy when you them.”

Though Carmina bought a lot of the decors and trimmings, she said some were gifts and others were repurposed items. She said, “Kung my Christmas balls kayo na natanggal na ang tali, huwag n’yong itapon. You can put them all in a decorative glass jar or container.”

The centerpiece on her dining table, for instance, is made of a glass jar filled with Christmas balls, as well as a wreath she just decorated with colorful and glittery stuff.

“This year, the twins helped me decorate our tree,” she said, but they had work at the time she was making her vlog. “It’s been with me for years. I didn’t buy any decors this year. I just store them properly. Lahat sila may container or balikbayan box. Sa mga babasagin, dapat lang nakabalot sa bubble wrap or newspaper.”
