Some of our favorite holiday traditions like Noche Buena, Media Noche, and all the reunions in between will most likely have to take place online, which is undoubtedly for the best.

For example, now would be a good time to involve the kids in preparing the Noche Buena feast, particularly desserts they'll love. Let them do the easy tasks like preparing, mixing, and layering ingredients. They can even serve as your food tasters!

    1. Creamy Mint Chocolate Ref Cake

    This recipe takes your children's favorite chocolate dessert to the next level with added texture and layers of flavor. Let your kids help you with assembling this ref cake. Then, watch them enjoy every indulgent spoonful filled with crushed mint candy and cookies, cream, and chocolate!

    Ingredients:

    12 pieces cookies and cream, crushed
    2 tablespoons butter, melted
    1 pack NESTLÉ® All Purpose Cream 250ml, chilled
    1/2 cup condensed milk
    1/2 bar cream cheese
    3 tablespoons crushed hard mint candy (Polo)
    1/4 cup shaved chocolate, as topping

    Steps:

    1. Combine crushed cookies and cream and melted butter in a bowl. Transfer and press the bottom of a serving container.

    2. In a separate bowl, whip NESTLÉ All Purpose Cream until light. Add condensed milk, cream cheese, and mint candy and continue to whip until light and smooth.

    3. Pour on top of cookies and cream crust. Cover and freeze overnight.

    4. Top with chocolate shavings. Serve cold.

    2. Churros With Creamy Chocolate Sauce

    Ready for a more challenging recipe? Roll up your sleeves and make this snackable Spanish treat, using real chocolate to make the sauce!

    Ingredients for the churros:

    1/2 cup water
    1 pack NESTLÉ® All Purpose Cream 250ml, chilled
    1 stick butter
    1 teaspoon sugar
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour, sifted
    3 pieces eggs
    2 cups vegetable oil, for frying

    Ingredients for the sauce:

    1 pack NESTLÉ® All Purpose Cream 250ml, chilled
    1/4 cup water
    1 cup chopped chocolate

    Steps:

    1. Make the churros: Combine water, 1/2 cup NESTLÉ All Purpose Cream, butter, sugar, and salt in a pot. Mix well and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the flour and continue to cook over low heat until mix until the mixture pulls out clean from the side of the pan. Transfer into a bowl.

    2. Add the egg one at a time and mix until well combined. Transfer into a piping bag with a star piping tip.

    3. Preheat the oil in a pan. Pipe strips of the dough into the oil and cut using scissors. Fry until golden brown. Transfer into a cooling rack to drain excess oil.

    4. Make the sauce: Gently simmer 1/2 cup NESTLÉ All Purpose Cream and water in a pan. Pour the mixture into a bowl and stir in chocolate until smooth. Pour into a serving cup and serve with churros.

    Makes: 4 to 6 servings

    3. Creamy Fruit Cake

    Finally, what is Christmas without a delicious fruit cake? If you're opting for homemade this year, here's a recipe you can try. This version is made even more special with a sweet and creamy vanilla glaze.

    Ingredients for the fruit cake:

    1 cup toasted cashew nuts, chopped
    1/2 cup raisins
    1/4 cup dried mangoes, chopped
    1/4 cup dried pineapples, chopped
    1/2 cup rum
    1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    1/2 teaspoon fine salt
    1 bar butter
    1 cup brown sugar
    1 pack NESTLÉ® All Purpose Cream 250ml, chilled
    2 pieces eggs

    Ingredients for the glaze:

    3/4 cup powdered sugar
    1 pack NESTLÉ® All Purpose Cream 250ml, chilled
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

    Steps:

    1. Make the fruit cake: Combine cashew, raisins, dried mangoes, dried pineapples, and rum.

    2. Preheat the oven to 350F.

    3. Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Set aside.

    4. Whisk butter and brown sugar then mix until light. Mix in NESTLÉ All Purpose Cream and eggs.

    5. Pour cream mixture and rum mixture into the bowl of dry ingredients. Mix until combined. Pour cake batter into a greased loaf pan.

    6. Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted in the center of the cake.

    7. Make the glaze: Combine powdered sugar, NESTLÉ All Purpose Cream, and vanilla extract. Mix well.

    8. Pour the glaze on top of the fruit cake. Set aside for 30 minutes to cool. Slice and serve.
