5 Practical Ideas for a 7th Birthday Party From Real MomsInstead of hiring magicians and clowns, a talented 7-year-old had a pretty cool idea that got all the guests clapping.
Seven is the age when most kids are old enough to appreciate a birthday party and are young enough to enjoy party games, magicians, and loot bags. It’s for this reason that many Pinoy parents choose this milestone to go all-out with their child’s birthday celebration. Is your child’s 7th birthday coming up? SmartParenting.com.ph moms and dads have shared their 7th birthday program ideas on our Parent Chat. We’ve compiled a few of them here for you (edited for clarity and brevity):
Got a creative child? Let her join in on the planning as what ParentChatter mom RoGue did for her daughter’s 7th birthday party. She says her daughter thought up the “musicals” theme for her party all on her own. Instead of hiring magicians and clowns, her daughter prepared stage numbers instead. She danced a ballet piece to “Keep on Dancing” from the film Barbie and the Pink Shoes. “Then she had a live rendition of 'Defying Gravity' from the Broadway play Wicked with Mom on the keyboards,” she wrote. The main number was a duet with her dad of the song “Dati” by Sam Concepcion and Tippy Dos Santos. “The guests were on their feet jamming with the father-daughter tandem and were awed especially when they heard her rap.”
Much like how a debutant would have 18 flowers, 18 gifts, and 18 candles, a few ParentChatter moms also suggested doing the same for a 7-year-old’s birthday party. This works for boy celebrants, said ParentChatter Andreismom who did the program on her son’s birthday party. “We had seven gifts, which came from cousins and classmates from kinder, and seven candles from boy schoolmates. Then seven princesses -- sinayaw niya yung mga girl classmates niya while singing "Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran. Then he gave flowers sa girls.”ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW

Obispado de Cubao
If you need a venue, ParentChatter ayen67 recommends Obispado de Cubao (call 723-5116 local 101) in Quezon City. Though the venue is popular for weddings since it is located near Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Lantana street, the space lends itself well to any occasion. “Ang capacity is 80 people pero nung party ng anak ko yung table set up is for 90 adults and 20 for kids,” she says. “Yung fourth function room ang ni-rent namin. May iba pa silang function room na pwede sa more than 100 pax na capacity."
Ace Hotel and Suites
ParentChatter deesalonga was “very satisfied” with the grand ballroom she booked for her youngest daughter’s 7th birthday party at Ace Hotel and Suites. The function room was “very spacious” and “the service was good,” she wrote. The venue is also great if you’re planning on extending your child’s celebration like a swimming session, as Ace Hotel and Suites has the water spa. Not up for a party? Book a room for a night, and it’s a great place to hold a sleepover for your celebrant and her closest friends.CONTINUE READING BELOWRecommended Videos

Hong Kong Disneyland
ParentChatter violet.crumble says she inquired in play area places for her child’s birthday since it would entail less preparation and stress. Her options included Active Fun and Kidzania in Bonifacio Global City and Kidsville in SM Aura. But based on the cost at these places, she wondered a family treat to Hong Kong Disneyland was a better and cost-efficient option since it will be a joint celebration for kuya and bunso. “Halos same din ang magagastos or baka less pa,” she wrote. "Kahit siguro mag one night kami sa Disney’s Hollywood Hotel or Disneyland Hotel, para yun yung pinaka-highlight nung trip.”
