Every year, I can't help but wonder if all the effort and expense spent on my child's birthday party are worth it. But every time I see her enjoying herself with her friends, basking in love from family, my answer always ends up with a resounding "yes."
Admittedly, parents these days are lucky with the multitude of party options available to us. Do we want a DIY-themed party with all the shebang? There are suppliers and even Facebook groups that can make our lives easier. Do we want a simple one where we just show up with our guests, eat, play games, make chika, and go home? There is a range of restaurants and venues that can also cater to any budget. Personally, I enjoy birthday parties in fast-food restaurants as it's a stress-free and affordable option to celebrate my kids' birthdays. But now that my eldest is in the double-digit-aged era, she and her friends have had their fair share of dancing bees and purple mascots. They are also more interested in doing new and different activities instead of the usual party games. If you are also looking for other exciting alternatives for your child's next party, here are a few options to consider:
