Throw a Fairy Party: Wings, Wands, Games & Fairy Food
Make your child’s fairy birthday party magical with these easy ideas.

Published on Oct 30, 2025
So, your little one doesn’t just want to be a fairy for their special day—they want to invite other fairies to join the celebration too?
From fairy wings to magical mushrooms, we’ve got everything you need to plan and prepare for a day powered by the magic of friendship!
Décor
A Fairy Palette
Always start your party planning journey by choosing a color palette!
Pastel shades of pink, purple, green, and yellow are popular choices for a fairy party. If you're going for a more enchanted woodland vibe, try a palette of earth tones with a hint of red—it works like magic!
Color palettes are an excellent guide when planning a themed party. They help keep your shopping and décor cohesive, making the whole event feel more polished and put together.
Make the Guests Part of the Décor
Why stop at decorating the venue? Include your guests, too!
And no, you don’t have to ask them all to wear something magical or stick to specific colors (though you can bet many kids will show up in fairy outfits once the invitations go out!).
Just provide their magical fairy garb! Here are a few ideas:
Fairy Wings
What’s a fairy without her wings? Order fairy wings online— they’re often cheaper in bulk. Bonus points if they match your fairy palette!
Ribbon Fairy Wands
Your bulk fairy wings may already come with matching wands, but if not, make your own!
Grab some sticks, pastel-colored ribbons, and a glue gun. Tie a ribbon to the end of a stick and secure it with glue. If you’re feeling extra, use two to three ribbons instead of one for extra magic!
Flower Crowns
You can buy ready-made flower crowns online, or turn it into an activity by letting kids make their own! Just get the supplies, and it becomes both a craft and a costume piece.
Discover Your Fairy Name
For this, download a “What’s Your Fairy Name?” sheet from the internet. These often use things like your shirt color or initials to generate a name. The kids can use their new fairy names for the rest of the day!

You don’t need special potions and elixirs to make it fairy-themed—just a little imagination to put magic in mortal food!
Rename everyday food with magical names:
Pretzels = Forest Twigs
Fresh berries = Forest Berries
Drinks Station = Magic Elixir Bar with labels like Fairy Potion, Pixie Bubbles Soda, and Fairy Fizz
Sweets and snacks = Pixie Pillows Marshmallows, Magic Beans, or simply Fairy Bites
Games
Here are some magical, easy-to-set-up games for your fairy-themed party!
Catching Morning Dew
For this game, you will need fishing nets with sticks and a big bubble maker (or you can also blow your own). The game works by having the kids catch all the bubbles in their fishing nets! It works best for younger kids because it requires less effort and doesn’t need a winner, yet keeps them entertained and challenged enough!
Catch the Fairy
Similar to the Catching Morning Dew game, but this time the children will be catching fairies. The fairies can be small fairy toys or printed fairy pictures that you cut out for the kids to catch. For this game, you can declare the kid who catches the most fairies the winner!
Dandelion Scoop
This is a very fun game that even adults find entertaining. All you will need are cotton balls as dandelions, a big bowl or basin to put your dandelions in, individual bowls for each player, a blindfold, and a big spoon or a good old sandok.
The blindfolded players will scoop as many dandelions as they can from the big bowl into their own for one minute, and the player who has the most dandelions when everyone gets their turn wins!
Fairy Scavenger Hunt
If your party venue has a big space for kids to run around in, ask them to do a fairy scavenger hunt! All you need are random fairy knick-knacks like an old key, fairy rocks, fairy jewel toys, a ribbon, a gold toy coin, a flower, a leaf, a feather, a toy ring, and similar items.
Activities
For other activities that are not games but still fairy-themed, here are a couple of ideas:
Fairy Face Paint
All you need for this is a set of face paint crayons (which you can easily find on online shopping platforms), and someone creative enough to do art on the children’s faces!
Build a Fairy House
For this, all you need is to set up some tables and chairs, protect the tables with cartolina or manila paper, and buy ready-to-paint house kits online! You can also add additional props like feathers, glitter, and sparkles to make it fairy-like.
And that’s all we have for a fairy dust–filled day! Don’t forget that magic comes from within — and have fun as well!
