With the live remake of Disney's Beauty and the Beast just a few days away, it's no wonder everyone's obsessed with the classic princess story and characters and 3-year-old Nellee Rossi isn't exempted. The only difference? Most of us don't have dads who can make dreams come true with amazing photo magic.
“The new Beauty and the Beast movie is coming out and she’s obsessed with Belle from the movie. She loves when the Beast comes out, when they fall in love,” Nellee’s dad Josh Rossitold People. “So I was like, ‘Okay. That could be fun.’ ”
Being a commercial photographer by trade, Josh is obviously skilled at taking photographs and editing them. For his daughter, he used his talents to recreate iconic Beauty and the Beast scenes with his little girl as Belle. It was his gift to her for Valentine’s Day.
“We play a game we both truly love -- which is taking magical pictures together,” Josh told Huffingon Post. What could be more perfect than playing pretend with a dad who's a master at it, right?
The shoot took quite a lot of work took. The castle setting in the background is from actual photographs Josh took while on a trip to Europe. This includes the Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany which was the inspiration for Disneyland California's Sleeping Beauty castle.
The dresses were donated by Ella Dynae, a featured designer of Disney Princess-inspired costumes. “She was over-the-top excited about the dresses,” he said. “While we were in studio shooting her she wanted to reenact certain parts from the movie. She had seen it so many times that she had the dancing scene memorized. She got the most excited for that part because finally she could act out that [dancing] scene with the Beast (me).”
This isn’t the first time Josh and Nellee have gone viral either. They were the talk of the Internet when Nellee dressed up as Wonder Woman, and the photos were uploaded to Josh’s Instagram account for the superhero’s 75th anniversary. Check out how amazing they are:
There’s more. For her second birthday, Nellee had a killer party invitation with her in total fighter mode. To get this astonishing final product, Josh explained that he had to take different parts from a bunch of photos of his daughter from the shoot, and photograph a man blowing fire for the epic explosion scene at the back. The result? An unforgettable invite.
“A normal photo doesn’t do it for me. I’m constantly taking photos and videos to try and hold on to each moment spent with her,” Josh said. As for the Beauty and the Beast project, “I wanted to give that to her because it represented my love for her and how special she is to me.”
Josh told Huffington Post that he hopes other dad will get to appreciate the photos too. “I honestly hope that dads will get inspired to spend more time with their daughters and find something they can do together to connect.”
Hats off to you, dad! Is there any chance we can ask you to do our kids’ pre-birthday shoot?
